I've written dozens of songs. (I know, other people have written hundreds, if not thousands), but my point is, I feel I wrote a great song back in 1995, and I still think, to this day, it could get some recognition. If anyone would like to help me record it, (I had my band record it on tape, but they're all gone. People I did the song for always asked for a copy, and by the time I was through with my ex, they were all gone.), I would love to try it out. Plusses: I'm fairly outgoing, and somewhat of a male w****. Minuses: I can't guarantee it will be successful at all, but you will have a lifetime's worth of beer at my place (provided you show up) Here are the lyrics: (It's a waltz genre) (the italics are for feeling!) I don't talk... I can't sleep... The words that were spoken just cut in too deep I just lie... wide awake... They say time heals all wounds, makes you stronger each day... Still I wait... Thinking in vain... That anything could've changed just how this would end So I drift off to memories of our once bonded lives And time of the past can be Hell on your mind (Chorus) Never will I kiss you goodnight, darling Never wipe a tear from your eye I won't lie to you Confide in you Say who's wrong or who's right Never again will you be mine Should I wait?... God, what for?... Hope all but left when you walked out the door It was good... Now it's gone... And I'm supposed to get right back up and carry on Say goodnight... say farewell... Wish her the best and hope I do as well You can hold on to memories... Hold on to your dreams But holding on to the past is as dumb as it seems... (chorus reprised) Never will I kiss you goodnight Never wipe a tear from your eye (higher octave) Never more will I interfere Never will you be quite as near (still higher octave) Never will my words make you sad Never share the life we once had I won't lie to you Confide in you See the good and bad sides of you We just didn't stand up to time..... Never again will you be mine. (dunka dunka dun dunka dunka dun dunka dunka dun etc.) Anyone?
I'll see if I can get in touch with David Gilmour, Rick Wright, and Nick Mason and see if they want to help you out. I doubt I can get you Roger Waters, though, so you will be on your own for a bass player and don't ask Jeff. He is too busy with 2 bands as it is.
Waltz!? Are you kidding -- I picture this song as a 'sequel' to Highway to Hell - blazing/crunchy guitar riffs - soaring stadium rock vocals... I really think we're on to something -- here's my take (remix) on your chorus: Never will I kiss you goodnight, b**** Never wipe a tear from your black eye I won't even try to lie to you Make bail from you Say you're wrong more than once Never again will you drink my beer... AAAAHHHH YYYYYYYEAAAAHHH!!!
Is Lawrence Welk still alive? He'd be all over it. Too bad Frank Sinatra's dead. I think King Cheetah may be on to something...
