Sad to see Livingston go, but this does give the team $2.5 mil in extra cap room right now to facilitate a trade with (if one comes up).

I think this gives Rockets something like $8M in cap room.

I'm ok with waiving all of those guys, except for Livingston. I really liked what I saw in the preseason with him. And Douglas scares me with his terrible shot selection. He seems way too selfish to be a good floor general, and too bad a shooter to be a shooting guard.

The only reason Cook made it is because of his guaranteed contract, otherwise we keep Livingston instead.

Tough decision by Rockets. Livingston will get picked up by another team.

Where's the link? You think you're the authority now because you first posted the news of the trade.

Congrats to Machado and Smith. Hate to see Livingston go, hope Forbes gets a chance somewhere else.

Sad for Livingston, a awesome player, much better than Machado now (he can improve in next years). And we couldnt send Livingston to Vipers, he doesnt deserve that.

Wish the best for him and Forbes and Brockman.

Would have liked to keep Livingston over Cook, Delfino, Morris, but I guess the contracts mandated it like this.

Maybe Rockets can still sign Livingston to a one year deal. Or a two year deal with team option for 2nd year. I really liked how Livingston fit with this team. Very active on D and a playmaker on O.

    Choices were limited.

Douglas was guaranteed and can play more Shooting Guard with Harden on the team.

    They're high on Machado.

Cook can spread the floor AND has a guaranteed contract.

The ones they kept fit better AND are easily tradable expirings to get another piece.

Livingston was good, but got stuck as the odd man out.

    Really? That's nuts.

Not shocked by the cuts. But if we are in a win now mode, you'd think we'd waive Machado in favor of Livingston.

I expected them to send Machado to the d-league and keep Livingtion, but only if Livingston is your backup. If it's for 3rd string PG might as well take the rookie who you can still send to the d-league.

Don't have roster spot unless we cut somebody else.
