Lets discuss the game here... first off, did anybody else see that horrible intro by Fox (aka, a Chevy ad combined with a plug to go see the Bad News Bears)...?

Man... I can't WAIT till Fox's MLB contract runs out... b/t Jeannie Zelasko's pregnancy, and their non-stop video-gameizing of the broadcast of a game, I've pretty much had enough of it (note, this is only for Big fox... I'm pretty satisfied with Fox sports net, minus the talking dallas-heads for foxssw nightly report).

You're not kidding about JZ's pregnancy. She looks like she could go into labor during the game.

I'm pretty sure 'Scooter' will be making an appearance or 50 during the game.

    agh, I'd nearly forgotten Scooter.

Also, good job cutting off Ernie Harwell to get a cheesy Smokey Robinson promo in.

Now its this million-dollar pitch promotion... ugh! (although it was pretty cool to see the guy last year do it at MMP).

They shouldn't show that live... just replay it if the guy actually gets it. I'm sure Taco Bell didn't like the fact that their name was just associated with a busted promotion.

That pop-gun of smoke going off behind the players is bizarre. Did they do that at MMP, I don't recall.

Ooh... Kenny Rogers hearing the BOOOS! :D (and Joe Buck with a hint of sarcasm in his voice...he was a prominent figure in speaking out against him showing up at the ASG).

Ugh... they should have said somewhere that this game would be starting closer to 8 than 7. This rivals some of those commercial/preview-times before movies now-a-days.

well that was pretty much a given considering this is an all-star game that will have a lot of fanfare beforehand.

and i know he just grounded into a double play, but how disgusting is your lineup when the guy with the lowest batting average is manny ramirez.

That is pretty sick.... meanwhile, the NL is batting that beast David Eckstein at 9th (I literally thought he was a ballboy when he was introduced). No wonder Roger, Andy, Pedro, and Hudson LOVE pitching in the NL.

nice game for the Mets so far huh?

    Pedro blows off the game
    Beltran grounds into a DP
Piazza whiffs on a curve out of the strike zone

comparing these two lineups, it's not even a joke how much at a disadvantage the NL is in to start this game....

I was about to type how I'd take the NL pitchers over every AL pitcher (with the exception of Santana), but then Smoltz gives up that bomb to Tejada.

Personally, I would have saved Smoltz for a later-game situation (with his closer experience), but I guess TLR wanted to get him in early because he's a detroit native, and deserves to pitch when the game could actually still be in doubt.

I don't care... Oswalt almost got nailed by both the ball and the broken bat just now... I had a lump in my throat.

EDIT: I think Roy needs Ausmus right now.
