My brother is looking for the best mediteranean restaurants in Houston. My first thoughts were Droubi's, Mama's Po Boy, and Fadi's.

What are y'all's thoughts? Any better places? This is one food group I'm not extremely familiar with.

Niko Niko's or Mykonos (fancier, more seafood-focused).

Not sure if Mediteranean is considered the same thing as Persian, but the times I've eaten them I thought they were similar.

The best persian restuarant I've been to is Kasra. It's located on Westhiemer, in the same parking lot as Yao's and Benihanas. This place is awesome. The hummus is like crack. Actually this is one of the best restaurants in Houston period, so you should all check it out.

There's a new weird looking medit. restaurant in Sugar Land/ Missouri city at the Highway 6/ Austin Parkway(Dulles) intersection by Randalls. It's a buffet at about 9-10 dollars a person. Personally, I'm not sure how it's supposed to taste, so it's so-so to me.

By Mediterranean, I am assuming you mean both Greek and Middle Eastern, so here goes...in no particular order.....

    Greek:
Mykonos Island (Richmond @ Greenbriar...excellent Greek food and a good date place)
    Niko-Nikos (Montrose)
Roadster Grill (Bellaire & Bissonnet) - GREAT Greek food in a burger joint!

    Middle Eastern:
Darband Shish Kabob (Hillcroft - some of the best cheap eats in town - beef kabob with rice for $4.50)
Istanbul Grille (Rice Village - their Turkish coffee RAWKS)
Shwarma King (Hillcroft....their chicken shwarma is heroin food)
    Droubi's
    Fadi's
    Dimassi's

    Check out www.b4-u-eat.com for reviews.

Fatty....you are making me hungry again!!!

If you want some variety, Dimassi's is a good mediterranean buffet. Drink and meal is included in the 9-10 dollar price. The selection is good too, so you have a little bit of everything to try out. The fried cauliflower is soooo good :)

The best for me is Fadi's. There is also a Med buffet on Dairy Ashford near Westheimer, called Med Palace, it's pretty decent as well.

There are a few others, mainly Lebanese restaurants that I like.

    Fadi's is good.

House of Kabob, is cheaper and ok.

Phoenician Deli on Westheimer is best overall.

I've been to all the rest, and none hold par to any of these three.

I always went to Kismet Cafe near UT. Not real fancy, but decent for sandwich type stuff (gyros, shawarma, falafel).

You guys are making me want to throw away my lunch and trade it for some real food. There is no Mediterranean food at all out here. :( Be thankful for the options you have and use them while you have the chance.

    Aw yeah, now we're talkin'!

There's the Istanbul Grill in the Rice Village area that's awesome.

I recently discovered this place called Mary'z off Richmond near Fountain View. It doubles as a hot spot bar/hookah bar in the evenings. But the food is excellent AND affordable.

And a helluva lot more where that came from!

I could have sworn the first time I saw a picture of Roula, she was fat. I used to chuckle to myself when she talked about wearing g-strings and going out to get men etc. I wonder why i was under that impression.

Oh, and she mentions the reastuarant and posts a link in her profile

Yeap. She was like how you mention first. For some reason, it is also somehow the way I remember her, because I know that the WB had some movies presented by her and the Ryan guy. She used to look like this.

So those are either extremely flattering pictures, or she's gotten in shape. Good for her, unless she cheated with lipo or something.
