I am quiet ashamed to say that I was at the Rockets game tonight, and you had to be there to experience the chatter the fans were having during and after the game. My Brother tried to pull me out of the seat so we can get a headstart on leaving the Arena before it gets too busy, I told him to wait with a little over 1:30 minutes left in the game, for I had a certain uneasy feeling about the sloppiness the Rockets were playing with late in the game and after seeing Francis blow a free-throw. I was right yet again! People who were leaving the Arena were cursing in the worst possible way and hanging their heads down as if ashamed of supporting and standing behind this undeserving team. People were swearing to everyone who would listen to them that they would never, ever again come to a Rockets game or ever give a damn again! The arena seemed at least a third-full of vacant seats. I was surprised to see entire upper sections with no one in them, even though they are the cheapest tickets available! I can only assure you of one more thing, the Compaq Center will be soon enough more than just underattended by fans, but will also be unattended by the passionate and caring fans who give a damn!

I have watched some games of Rox this year.
I never saw a clear offence plan, which i saw in other good teams.

Rox is a bad team, this is truth.

why in gods name would you want to break up a team that just barely got assembled? this is absolutely ridiculous. sometimes i don't even want to come to this board because of threads like this. some people have no patience whatsoever.

Calm down. Rox is not the worst team in the league. I think overall they played a descent game today.

A lot of us not living in Houston is envious of Houstonians. You guys could see the game easily, unlike some of us.

Rather than praying that Rockets get disbanded, you better be thankful that you have a good talented young team which is still learning to pull it off together.

    jwill,

i think the words the initial poster used may be a bit harsh but why not trade off some redundant pieces (mobeley and maybe Griffen) for areas that we need improvements in (Power Forward).
Granted, this team is "newly assembled" as you have pointed out but the problems are clear. The team can be together for 3 more years and the problems will most likely not change.

With that said, if you know there is a problem and its not gonna fix itself in the future, why not fix it now? I would hate to see us miss the playoffs this year and continue losing most of next year before management "finally realizes" that we need PF help.

Classic case of win now not later huh? Patience is virtue but in the world of sports there is none nowadays.

Please remember: We are a very young team. EG's only 20. Didn't Jermaine O'Neal and Tracy McGardy teach you something? Not that I think EG will be as good as them but he can certainly become good enough for us. Be patient and enjoy the ride. :)

Hikanoo, if we trade Cat and Griff for a power forward, Who is going to play shooting guard? How is this going to help the team? Think before you speak. Don't just say what every other Yao does not get the ball enough poster says. While I would agree Cat is best suited for a 6th man role, Who do we have to replace him with? Griff and Taylor will be just fine at the pf position. You can't have a superstar at every position. Griff is allready good and has his moments with tons of potential and Taylor is a proven commodity. Look at our record with and without Taylor.

Answering this question is like no-brainer, Steve Francis. Right now even Rockets team have better guy at PG position then Francis.

People are jumping on EG, I am not like that. I actually like the guy more than most players on the team, at least he is not full of bull. And he WILL become our second best player 2-3 years down the road, after Yao that is (Francis will be third most important). We invested too much in the kid and he just needs to take his time and play off the bench and learn the game the way young kids should. However, there are players who have been in the game long enough to know better, namely Mobley. Imagine what kind of a player we can get right now if we trade MoT and Cat, especially with MoT playing as good as he is playing lately and with his rising stock. Any smart team would take advantage of that. We need not another forward, but a really good veteran point guard who can distribute the ball well with under 5 turnovers a game! The only thing that came out good of the game is that Stevie did not commit a turnover, amazing huh? Also that Yao is starting to become more consistant on the offensive end. I cannot see the Rockets future without three key players right now: Yao Ming, Eddie Griffin, and Steve Francis (at the 2 guard!).

He meant that if you trade Cat you get a good PG who can handle the ball and pass better than Steve. Steve then moves to his natural postion of a 2 guard, which he by the way is dying to do.

Read my post again. I said trade Cat OR Griffen. Obviously if we trade BOTH, we can arrange so that we get 2 players back. The Brand/Pike trade that many talk about is still appealing.

I can not believe that you still think Griff and Taylor are adequate at PF. Do you watch the games? Have you seen how EVERY power foward goes off against us. I am not asking for a super star. I would even be happy with a Brian Grant, Tyrone Hill type. Plays d, rebounds and does the dirty work.

which punk ass was screaming when Francis was making the FTs. Geez, I have never seen a home crowd try to disturb it's own player's FT when the game was on the line. Shame!

    2nd youngest team in league

Rookie Center with no prior experience in US Basketball

A still 20 year old PF starting if it was next season

A backup PF coming back from major injury

A starting SF that is still fighting a major injury

A backup SF that just starting after only being on the team for a month

A SG that has been injured this season

A PG that barely played half of the last season

Still fighting to keep playoff spot

Did I mention 2nd youngest team in the league?

Sure, why not lets breakup the team and startover?
