Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders is nearing completion on a four-year, $44 million contract extension, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

The deal will include bonuses that could push the value of the contract to the $48 million range, sources said.

    DPOY type center.

Good move locking him up for 11-15 mill a year.

    Overpaid for Larry Sanders? Probably.

Overpaid based on what other centers are getting? Probably not.

Excellent contract. IMO one of the best defenders in the NBA. He still is fairly young, so he still has a good amount of upside.

Lol, if everybody keeps inflating the price of centers, then teams are going to get screwed. Somebody has to put a stop to this nonsense.

The team that is getting him will have to pay him about 20 mil over the next couple years or 15 mil the last year.

Only in actual cash but not in cap space. His cap number is still $8.3 million which is all that matters

    These.

Sanders led the league for the majority of the season in blocked shots. He's pretty much a double double machine + 3 blks/game.

    Knight
    Mayo
    Delfino
    Ilyasova
    Sanders

is solid. If Sanders develops even more offensively, it could turn into Dwight/Orlando-lite offense.

Sanders averaged 10pts 10 rebs and 3 blks a game. I agree he deserves to get paid, but 11 mil a year? Sanders was going into the last year of his deal which is usually when they play their hardest. He might coast now that he knows hell be locked up for another 4 years.

He is a bargain at 11m. He is a DPOY quality player. I'd argue he deserves it much more than Marc Gasol. And Sanders is only 24 so he has potential to improve ALOT more on offense. I would take him over players like Vucevic, Asik etc 10/10 times every day of the week.

For the millionth time posting this, here's his defensive impact towards opponents FG% when he's on the floor (Remember he has terrible defenders at the PF, SG, and PG):

That's a pretty good deal for the Bucks. I thought he would've gotten a little more.
