It is time for Tmac to simply move over and play the PG position full time, he is the one initiating the offense anyway, who are the Rockets kidding?

Find a good 2 guard who can guard the opponents PG on defense and let Tracy bring the ball up and intitiate the offense.

We have a good PG - his name is Tmac.....

You want Rafer to move to the bench......here ya go.....

yeah. he runs the point anyways. which is why rafer TO's are low. he brings up the ball and gives it to tmac at the three point line

i wouldnt mind moving mac to the PG position as long as we get a freaking shooter or two

McGrady needs offense created for him. This idea will tire out McGrady and keep him away from what he does best ... get in rhythm and score.

McGrady is best when he can let someone else do the creating. In the New Orleans game at the end of the season, with Rafer destroying Paul on offense (and the same thing happening on the other end of the court), T-Mac was coming off screens, catching and shooting, getting two step drives, and he was unstoppable. He's better than Shawn Marion at Shawn Marion's role. It's just that his playmaking is good enough that he's required to do it. I'd rather have a great playmaker point guard (not a scorer), that'd make McGrady a better player.

I don’t know if I want a point guard whose main offensive move is dribbling the ball up the court and launching a 20 foot jumper at the top of the key.

are u kidding me, he initates most offense anyway. he just doesn't bring it up?

we want tmac to score/finish, not create everytime. u got ur logic wrong.

and what other 2guard would score better than tmac outside of kobe/wade? thank you.

So you are saying him dribbling the ball up the court is going to tire him out more than him just jogging up the court without the ball?

I don't see how it makes any difference at all.

teams might put pressure on tmac unlike they do to aslton to tire him out. that's a coaching strategy.

also, the point of this offseason is to RELIEVE tmac's responsibility, not INCREASE.

u want tmac to do less and do it more efficiently.

with that said, tmac go improve your jumpshot. it's broke.

sorry but i dont think t-mac's jumpshot will improve. remember david wesley? he was a decent shooter his first year with us, then he couldnt hit the broad side of a barn the following years. same thing is happening to tmac.

I think Barkley is right when he said "move Tracy to Small Forward." I don't think t-mac should run point, i think age is coming to him fast.. and he's getting tired.. we need a PG that can create some action or atleast better offensive plays

I am just saying that we could have tried something different to get Alston off the floor without playing V-Span.

SF is fine with me, but if that is the case we need a PG who can create and get to the rim....

And there is where V_Span fits in.

Then, we have Vspan who can penetrate and pass to Tmac.

I don't know about that. We would be running into the same problem we have now and that's depending on one guy to create everything. T-Mac does wear down and this does affect his jumpshot. Look at game 7. How many times did he bring the ball up. We saw him fighting through the defense numerous times to get teamates involved. As a result, his jumpshot was short for most of the game.

I think sometimes we forget that T-Mac is a lenghty 6-8, 6-9 guard. It takes alot of energy to move that frame around as quick as he does.

If he was moved to the point, his coach would SURELY have to get him some more rest...and he can probably play some 2 and 3 as well during the game as other players come into the game.

Tracy was playing out of position all season. He had a great season in 2005 playing the small forward. This season he was going against 2-guards. However Battier only effectiveness really is at small forward too since he is too lean to cover power forwards. I don't know how this can be fixed.

rodney stuckey would be a nice pickup through the draft if thats what you want. a combo guard at 6'4 who can score and run the point part-time.

Stupid idea. T-mac can't do this for 35-40 minutes a game, for 82 games, plus a long playoff stint. He's good at it, but he can't sustain it. We need someone initating the offense. And maybe T-mac can takeover when said player is out.
