I actually met the Dalai Lama when I was in Houston....he held a speech at TSU and I shook his hand afterwards, if I remember correctly. The funny thing is that the host family I sometimes visited (that was some program from UH for foreign students) was pretty outraged that I even went to see the guy, as he is not a Christian (that host family was also pretty close friends with the Bush family and Oliver North, by the way).

Well, maybe since the Dalai Lama is supposed to be some kind of God or something, he could have predicted something about Yao's level of aggression back in 1995...
If he had hit me, I would have beaten the crap out of him . But he seemed like a nice older guy. It was funny for me to see those people kneeling on the ground and hoping he would touch their head long before he even came out of the building...I respect whatever people believe, but that just looked kind of strange.
Dude, I think I actually DO have that picture, I know I got one of that sign I was trying to upload a bunch to yousendit last night but it crashed on me. I will upload the better ones to photobucket when I have some time but I'm real busy now; maybe over the weekend. Anyway, it was a kickass trip and I encourage anybody who gets a chance to go, and go now because it's changing quickly.
