I've noticed in the various and enjoyable music threads in this forum that there are a few Interpol fans... Anyway, they had a in store appearance at Lou's Records in Encinitas today so the SO and I stopped by. Turned out to be really nice guys and were dressed in their trade-mark suit and ties. I guess about 300 people in all showed and the line went three or four blocks down Historic 101. I have a couple pics but am not sure how to post pics here.
Too cool. I love Interpol !!! I went to their concert when they played at the Curiosa Festival a month ago or so. The concert was great. I even got to meet Daniel Kessler, when he was just waiting around after their concert. He seemed like a real nice guy. I'm still kicking myself for not bringing a camera to the concert. Have you got their new album yet? What do you think of it? The video for "slow hands" is very good. I think you can download it off their website.

Actually bought the new cd today so they could sign it, but have listened to it only once so far. First impression was that they made a nice and subtle transistion to a little bit fuller sound (and dare I say it?) a couple songs sounded almost happy? Time shall tell but I'm guessing it's a winner.

Thanks for sharing the pics. This band is nothing short of genius! I caught 'em at the Woodlands last month, but was upset with the shortness of their set. Mars Volta or Sparta???? Hmmm... Good to know there really were Interpol fans here. They will be back in San Diego Oct 28th at Club Soma so I'll pass along what ever I can pic, review wise. BTW, Secret Machines will be backing them up for that show. Should be sweet.
They're not touring right now. After opening for A Perfect Circle this past fall they went into the studio to record their new album 'Frances the Mute'. Release date of this album should be out soon. I was just relaying to the Rox masses my dream concert of the moment.
I've seen them twice in Austin (maybe at Emo's and Stubbs) and once in Portland at the Crystal Ballroom (with the Stills). They were really good live all three times. Too bad Daniel pretty much stopped playing his Rickenbacker... that Epiphone just sounds so muddy live...
