I am starting to enjoy the Morey era. First he leaks that Cook/Head rumor to Lopez, which is clearly a rip-off by the Lakers, then he says this to Feigan:

So putting two and two together, I think it is very likely that Cook/Head also involves #19-for-#26 if somoeone of Morey's "top 10" talent slips and is still available.

He definetely leaks out more than CD ever did. It will be an interesting draft night...

Let's wait for the empirical evidence first.

If this deal did go thru(big if here) and we stay put for our PF spot, who's going to guard Ducan, Boozer ... Not saying Howard was a stopper, but Cook makes Juwan Ben Wallace.

    Pass for me.

I really, really hate this Cook for Head idea almost as much as I hate the thought of us rolling into the new season with Cook and Hayes as our options at PF. Oh yeah, can't forget about Novak too!?!

Wimpest 4 in the entire league that would be. That is a joke which cannot happen.

Yeah a Cook for Head trade will be as bad as the Mike James for Rafer trade. I don't care if they swap picks, our PF rotation cannot be Cook/Hayes.

It would be a complete nightmare if that happened.

I like Cook, but I really like Turiaf. It would be great to get him somehow in a Head/Cook deal. I think he's the best fit 4 man for this team that we actually have a chance to get. I think the previously discussed Head and Bonzi for Cook, Turiaf and the #40 would be great. Morey has discussed a pick in the 40-45 range. A swap of first rounders on top of that would be amazing.

i'm in favor of the cook/head trade.

luther will not get any PT here with the additions of james and bonzi. you might as well move him.

cook is a great 3pt shooter for a big guy. 40% for his career, and that's not because he doesn't take many shots from outside. he has a little post game, and can rebound a bit too. in adelman's system, he will be very useful.

now, if the rockets do aquire cook, lets not believe the sky is falling. no one said they were done adding PF's. the rockets can still land a F/C, who in rotation would let chuck get minutes off the bench.

if the rockets aquire a f/c then hayes could essentially be the backup C. when yao comes out, chuck gets minutes while playing with a f/c. so he still plays the 4. cook can get minutes behind the f/c playing with yao and speading the floor for him.

Are we not allowed to "consider" PFs who average more than 3 RPG? Please no Cook, Please no James Singleton.

Cook isn't that bad, he a better athlete, defender and rebounder (per 48) than many give credit--pretty average--Howard like-- but not a total softy or Novak like as many of you suggest. He and Head both have limitations, but decent bench players. I'd do the trade with the draft swap definetly. Then we could still draft a more physical bigger body or add that type via FA.

We can just sign Van Horn and use Head in a more valuable trade. If we really want a 3pt shooting PF that bad. sigh... A 3pt shooting PF? This team needs some balls in the worst way. Like Rudy said after the first title. "These guys have balls"...

I would like to see this deal made and then a Varejao deal as he is more capable as a defender against bigs.

PLEASE bring brian cook. it's hard to find big guys who can pull...especially those with range.

luther head is a one trick pony. if he's not knocking down the three, he's turning the ball over.

    3 mil and a future 2nd rounder?

If that is really true, then I hope Les steps up to the plate for that. If he REALLY wants to build this team into a contender, then he would. That wouldn't require him to pay luxury tax, just cash for a rookie player. THIS is the draft to do that.

3 mil and a future 2nd rounder? How many can we get?!!!!

If we could buy Phoenix's and Philadephia's picks? Dang. Not only could we get three players who could contribute, such as Rudy Fernandez, Morris Almond, Sean Williams, Marco Belinelli, Nick Frazekas, Taureen Green, Glen Davis, Gabe Pruitt, or even Marc Gasol, but we could package the pics, and get someone like Yi Jianlian, Joakim Noah, Acie Law, or Javaris Crittendon, or one of Julian Wright, Tiaggo Splitter, Rodney Stuckey, Josh McRoberts and one of the first group.

We could have done this in the past if we wanted to, just like CHI did. I think Les is our biggest problem when it comes to our drafting, not CD.

If Les really wanted to build the team for the future, and get us the talent we need, he'd do this in the deepest draft we've seen in a long time. We could get 2 or 3 solid players out of the draft this year.

Oh, and all three of those trades suck, especially the Head trade. Once again, we can get more for him than that. How about Simmons or Armstrong from New Orleans? The JL3 trade is ok, I guess. But, I'd rather us collect a few of them together, and get a solid player out of them, mixing in Sura's contract, not one for one.

We could have done this in the past if we wanted to, just like CHI did. This also applies to trades. If we sweeten some of these trades, we could get better players. I think Les is our biggest problem when it comes to our drafting and trades the past few years, not CD. My eyes have been opened these last few months.
