So, in a nutshell, the Rockets beat the Lakers because we didn't quit and we hustled all game.

It may not have been pretty, but it's one heck of a win.

Based on history, Rockets only had a 1.5% chance of winning against the Lakers heading into the 4th quarter.

I wouldn't say that was the reason we won. Dwight wasn't horrible at the FT when we employed hack-a-Ho.

The Laker's simply broke down defensively and couldn't grab a rebound. Tony Douglas's wide open 3 that gave us the lead for example, was a result of Kobe losing Carlos Delfino on defense.

And I don't think stopping momentum had much to do with it either, because regardless of whether we employed Hack-a-Ho or not, Kobe WAS going to dominate the ball for the last 5 minutes of the game.

Kobe was terrific offensively, but his defense was atrocious. But the average casual fan wouldn't know it because the NBA will give him all defensive 1st team honors like always.

Well, its pretty simple. The Rockets won because they played hard for 48 minutes and never gave up. Even though the Rockets didn't shoot well, they still find other ways to score and be effective.

I think some people tries to find excuses for the Lakers on why they lost, by saying that either they are short handed, or Kobe was off etc but at the end, its all Bull****. The Lakers just lost because their players other than Kobe, started to slack off and didn't compete for the entire 48 minutes. Its simple, this is the NBA. Every team has to compete for an entire 48 minutes or they will lose.

    I'm a Homer!!!

But we won because D'antoni was high off the
    prescription drugs from his surgery
    ! How do you
leave Howard in in that situation! It was two minutes
of Hack-a Howard that kept the ball away from Kobe.
He could have put Hill in for two minutes until the
    Hack-a-Shaq rule kicked in
    at the 2minute mark.

Regardless beating the Fakers is always fun!!!!!

Why Houston win?? They're about #1 offense and also the worst defense in the NBA!! LOL...so if you combined them together you get either great game or horrible or close game.

In other words, the Lakers pooped on their big boy pants.
