    shiny! Reading now

    Edit: great points about harden.

Question for you, I don't know if you looked up the numbers for Lin, but I'd be interested to see where he was ranked. Not nearly as high as harden, but I'm curious where he landed in that stat.

This will be some of the best pick and roll finishing since Mensah bonsu and brooks.

I remember this talk last summer about Nash and Dwight. Nash isn't half the player he used to be though so hopefully we'll be good.

Doesn't make sense. JLin is as good a PnR player as Harden but Harden is a better shooter, shouldn't Harden be the one at the 3 pt line? Why wouldn't you use the strength of each player on your roster?

that's nice and all but how do we defend the pick and roll. it's something all of our guards had trouble with. i guess just match them point for point with it?

Smiled when I got to this part and saw the red headline. Still hasn't really sunk in.

    You're forgetting one point.

James Harden is better at the step back three than Jeremy Lin is. The step back three is ESSENTIAL to the whole pick and roll. The defender has to go over the screen allowing an easy pathway to the basket for either Dwight or James.

Lin is also a great pick and roll player, but is not as good as James Harden is. Mainly because of the lack of consistency in his shot. Lin's defender can go under the screen and "dare" him to shoot that three over the screen.

    Eh...

"Harden ranks number two in the NBA in pick-and-roll ball handler offense (.988 PPP) with a minimum of 150 possessions.

    ...

Lin ... his pick-and-roll offense ranks in the 76th percentile in the NBA (.849 PPP)."

That is the whole point. Mid range jumper aren't efficient and is against Rocket's philosophy. The team would much rather have a player take an efficient 3 than a contested step back.

It wouldn't be a contested step back. James Harden would only shoot a step back if the defender goes under the screen. Lin is limited in that he cannot shoot that step back and defenders will just sag off and make the pick and roll less effective.

Jeremy Lin is healthy and hopefully his improved jump shot is here to stay. I am hoping that he can make that open three at a high rate because if he cannot then yes, we are wasting his strength as a pick and roll player. Regardless, James Harden is the better pick and roll player, period.
