Seriously...losing budinger, then Kevin Martin and Jeremy Lamb. ROckets really look short on 3 point range and this is costing them games. Seriously I think they just suck big time..they need to trade Parsons if he does have any trade value left. He can't shoot 3s and SF position requires a great 3 pt shooter in my opinion. He's just an above average defender and can't shoot 3 pointers well. It's scary when they're spotting up Patrick Patterson from 3 point range every game omg..seriously he's a PF and a ****ty 3 point shooter but still attempts it late in games.

Wrong, we need an offense that isn't completely perimeter oriented. We have no post option or player movement. Win by the three die by the three.

What are you talkin about? THey'll still shoot 3s every game and the only reliable source is Delfino? You want Patterson and Parsons to keep shooting the open 3s??

We have other guys that can hit them! Thats really not the issue as much as we rely on two players to do all the scoring... and both those players are in their 1st full season as starters!

We need a REAL scoring option down low, and a bsck up PG that isnt Tony Douglas

Parsons is a scrub...he's definitely a liability to the team for a starter. He's not athletic enough..he has above average defending but that's about it...he easily gets stuffed when driving for layups and his 3 point shooting is unreliable which defeats his efficiency on offense. THis is very bad for rockets to have him play so many minutes and teams don't need to defend him

Exactly...that's why get a SF position as well as SG positions who are good outside shooters.

Easy to say this. But as I'm sure you know we are more likely to find a 3pt shooter than we are to find a 5 that can score. Morey won't sign anyone who will damage his ability to find a second superstar this summer. So finding a shooter is more likely than him acquiring an overpaid 5.

I said it already in a different thread that when the paint is collapsed we have to make them pay from the perimeter. If we had some offensive low post players we could battle down low. But we do not. So we need to spread them out and hit 3's when harden kicks the ball out. When they respect that, we may able able to attack the rim again. We need another shooter.

Cook should be an above average 3pt shooter, but have not seen much this season to confirm if he still shoots well.

Good post. I'm of the opinion that if your 4 shoots a 3, then he'd better be really d*** accurate because he is no rebounding position. I hate watching Patterson and Morris shoot a 3 from the corner or wing and stand there, pointing with a hand in the air. Follow your shot, especially if you are a big guy! Unless you are sprinting back to prevent the break, which I also don't see. Should be basketball 101.

The core problem is the bigs have been setting too few screens to enable attacking the basket. And the screens that have been set have been awful. (This may be Omer Asik's biggest weakness.) When the defense isn't forced to rotate from penetration, the resultant shots aren't open. And turnovers occur. This is why we've resorted to a lot of threes, and why they miss the mark.

I think the poor and insufficient screens are the Rockets' number one problem offensively right now. And until this is fixed, the offense will continue to run stagnant.

We need shooters period. We only have one in the starting rotation and one off the bench. No one else on our team can shoot to save their life.

All that said, tis roster is a work in progress with many holes to fill. Folks need to be patient

When we were first discussing the Asik signing everyone was saying that one of his strengths was setting screens. It seems that has really disappeared. I see our point guard pounding the ball on the perimeter and then having to pass it off to someone else on the perimeter because no one set a screen for him. However, as soon as the ball is in the other team's hands, expect our players to be caught up in screens where opponents are shooting easy shots.

I hate to admit it but totally agree. Parson is a liability on this team. Either he has regressed tremendously or he just doesn't fit in well with this new roster.

Parsons tries too hard to be a playmaker and he's a below average to poor to say the least. When you have Kevin Martin (zero playmaking abilities) out and Harden (good playmaker) coming in, Parsons become redundant. We need another solid finisher/shooter now because Rockets just signed a Max guy who happens to score and needs to touch the ball more often to be effective. A better scoring/finisher Small foward will make Harden's game become more effective. Also with Lin being a playmaker, it's a clutter now for someone with Parson's skillset that is below average at everything offensively and above average defensively. (but NOT this year)

What we need is a front court to start scoring on set plays, rather than just junk rebounds.

We need to work our offense from the inside out, not the outside out.....
