From what I had been told, the Rockets believed at one point they were going to get a deal done for LaMarcus Aldridge with Portland. ... How close, I don't know. ... From what I understand, Aldridge wants to be here. That's what he's been saying since the all-star break, that he wants to be on the Rockets. ... All I know for sure is Asik would be in there. I didn't hear anything about Lin for sure. ... I can guarantee you, if they were to work a deal for Aldridge, you can kiss those draft picks goodbye.

Seems to me it would (could?) take a Lin/Pap - Jennings (SnT)/Ilyasova deal with Ilyasova flipped to Blazers with Asik for LMA.

Oh, but that may go counter to what DM, the ass't GM, just said???

Is there any other way to attain that specific uh, asset?

I just don't see a trade package outside of asik that would entice Portland. They have batum who's better than parsons, lillard better than parsons, we would give them low picks etc.

I agree, I'm not sure he is ready to "run" a team, but he wouldn't have to in this case. Like said in the podcast, you don't need an elite PG to win it all. We would have 3 bonafide stars and a amazing 4th option. Bev would just have to shoot and defend, which he can do.

I would prefer Lin obviously, but I think he would be shipped somehow for Aldridge.

BKN just gave Boston a bunch of low picks and that got it done

at that point you would just need a PG who doesnt turn the ball over. anything beverly had to offer after that (his defense for instance) would just be icing on the cake!

I think you can play Batum and Parsons together be it at 3/4 or 2/3 - and cause all kinds of problems on both sides of the floor.

You have Lillard running with them and Asik defending the paint. Robinson possibly develops. There's something exciting about those pieces.

Now if Parsons' new contract balloons and that somehow negates Portland's cap space for the foreseeable future I cant see them doing it.

There's also that Asik-to-Chicago idea that would send Noah to Portland along with plenty of other 3-way possibilities.

He'll get to run that team the way Mario Chalmers, Derek Fisher, Kenny Smith ran their respective championship teams.
