Screw Dwight - Greg Smith is the new Carl Landry! Ice flowing through his veins in the 4th quarter, getting And1s making free throws like it's no big thing

I don't mind this overreaction thread.

Smith deserves all the praise he got.

Stepped up to the big stage.

The question I have is how he walks around with balls that big

They compared Smith to a young Otis Thorpe and I thought it was a good one. Well, Smith appears to be a better FT shooter...That catch and drive he made in the first half where the ball was way outside was incredible. Monster hands.

Loved him since last year and was really worried we would cut him, Morey and the Rockets usually pass on centers but so glad we kept him. Only 21, can defense Howard 1-on-1 pretty good, can rebound, his improved on his footwork, shooting, post moves, can come through in the clutch, rarely makes bad decisions and improved his FT shooting. What more can you ask for? Hope he turns into something special with those Thorpe like hands!

This is our team I guess. On any given night, any of our youngsters could look terrible. But on the flip side, on any given night, ANY of our youngsters can look amazing. I knew it in theory - but damn... it's really bizarre to see it. AND exciting! Love it! Let's go Smith!

Did the Rockets find another undrafted gem (a la Chuck Hayes) in Greg Smith? He reminds me of a bigger, stronger Carl Landry, minus the jumper. If can learn to stay on the floor longer by not fouling, he can be a real impact player for us.
