Funny b/c it ends up with him having his worst shooting game (thus shoots less) and his teammates shooting more. Maybe that was it lol. But seriously, when Nash returns, Kobe has to take on a Joe Johnson with Phoenix or Paul Pierce role in order for the Lakers to be dominant. He can't be averaging 25+ points anymore if this team ever reaches its potential.

Dwight and Pau need to be dominant, and their bench needs to show up like they did last night.

Kobe is making up for Pau sucking. Gasol is shooting 42% for the season. 22% from 3 to 9 feet shooting area. Thats where most post players operate.

Funny Pau only sucks when he plays with the Lakers. If you watch the Lakers, Brown/D'antoni don't know what the hell they're doing. You put Phil back there, and Pau will return to his star ways.

This guy was beasting a few months ago in the Olympics vs us and required double teams.

Pau Gasol under Phil Jackson in 2011 playoffs

    http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/996/year/2011/pau-gasol

Round 1 vs Hornets starting vs Carl Landry: 13.5 pts, 6.8 rebs, 42% FG 36 mins a game
Round 2 vs Dallas starting vs Dirk: 12.5 pts, 9.3 rebs, 42% FG, 36 mins a game

Struggled vs guys who aren't defensive stalworths in the playofs under Phil Jackson

3 different head coaches, same problems. Common factor? Pau Gasol

He was putting up 19/10 under Phil Jackson. The Lakers sucked that playoff run in general. Pull up Kobe's stats that playoff run too.

I thought we were talking about D'ANtoni/Mike Brown misusing him? I dont see Pau putting up 19/10 in the playoffs that year. Why didn't he?

Kobe at least had a knee injury (he later went to Germay to fix that). What is Pau's excuse?

Care to post Kobe's numbers from the 2011 or 2012 playoffs? He played pretty horrible himself.

So, Kobe threw a fit and that motivated his team to play better? I guess. When isn't Kobe throwing a fit? I would think they would be used to that. The difference probably had more to do with something they aren't used to him doing....not taking all the damn shots.

Kobe is a ball player, a husband, a father, a mentor, inspiring actor, vocalist all in one. The perfect human being.

Screw the Lakers. Specifically Kobe and Dwight Howard, but let's not leave anyone out.

Words do not describe the walking embodiment of pretentiousness that is Kobe Bryant.

Kobe in 2011 round 1 22.5 pts 44% FG. Higher FG than Pau
Kobe in 2011 round 2 23.3pts 46% FG Higher FG than Pau

    http://espn.go.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/110/year/2011/kobe-bryant

Kobe in 2012 round 1 29 points 44.5% FG. Higher than Pau
    Kobe in 2012 round 2 31pts 42.6% FG Pau 44% FG

so 3 out of the 4 series Kobe shoots a higher % than Pau despite taking more 3s despite taking more contested shots, despite taking more shots away from the basket...what Pau Gasol has become is just pathetic. We saw what happened to Odom once he left the Lakers unfortunately the decline has already started for Pau

Hes a great human being. Class A act off the court but his time as an all star are done

Why is he viewed as pretentious again?

Is he supposed to actually secretly wanting to be nice to his teammates, and secretly really hate winning?

You can call him a douche, but never pretentious

Kobe trying his best to be MJ. I think it's lame. One thing I like about LeBron is that he tries to by himself. Happy and fun loving all the time and serious when necessary. Kobe has no identity, the one he portrays is stolen from MJ.

Kobe will never relinquish the role of being the man...and till he does..the team will have no direction...Kobe wants to win..with him being the center of attention...and Nash, Pau, and Howard as his minions...I can easily see that they wont win anything this year as well...

Sure you can. For all his talk about winning, the Lakers could've won a lot more had he not feuded with Shaq.
