In Texas they must purchase alcohol (wine and beer)from distributors due to the "three tier system" set up by the TABC. Technically, liquor must be purchased from a "fourth tier" dubbed "Class B Wholesalers" (Spec's is one of these).
    Some names of Texas distributors:
    Glazer's
    Republic National
    Prestige
    Horizon
    Ambiente
    Avante
    Pioneer
    Serendipity
    MexCor

Beer distribution is done regionally. For example, there's an Anheuser-Busch distributor in Austin and Houston and San Antonio and DFW etc.

    Hope that helps.

How much cheaper is it for a bar to buy a bottle of Crown than it is for a person buying it from specs? Just curious.

If I had a bar, I can stack my inventory using these distributors? Are there any one stop distributors? How much of a difference is it compared to specs? How much markup is that specs?

Each distributor represents different suppliers. Spec's Class B Wholesale division sells to bars and restaurants at a discount (less than a customer walking into their store).
