    Who picked Franchise?

    I mean seriously.

Westbrook, with all his faults, is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better than Steve Francis.

Marbury is the best of that group. He was really good in his prime. Westbrook is not as good of a playmaker. It is close, though.

Francis and Marbury, even at their peak, were horrendous off-the-ball players. They were basically useless unless they dominate the ball. Westbrook, for all his faults, has shown capable of playing with a superstar and a talented team.

Stevie, bless his heart, I believe actually did want to be a team-first guy. He just sucked badly at doing so.

Actually hard to say because no way to know how a young Francis would gel with KD. Marbury is last of the 3.

Except the teams Marbury played for always got worse when he arrived and then improved once he left.

Say what you want about Westbrook, but he was a starting guard in the NBA finals. Marbury's teams had trouble just making the playoffs.

Marbury got traded for Ray Allen, Sam Cassell, and Jason Kidd. In New York there were other factors like Allan Houston going down and the Isiah Thomas effect.

Marbury was not a #1 guy. He was never put on that great of a team.

Westbrook has never been on a team without Durant. It is still unknown how he would do as a #1 option. Put him on a team with no talent and they probably make a first round exit. The talent difference between prime Marbury and Westbrook is small. (We have never seen Westbrook on a bad team so we just don't know, though.)

Westbrook makes a few bonehead plays a game, but then he makes up for it with a few plays that basically only he and maybe Rose could create just on his athleticism alone. Francis and Marbury had their special ways of killing the team and didn't really redeem it with other play: Francis would dribble the ball flat and Marbury would drive with his head down and arm cradling the ball everytime down the lane.

Westbrook is the best scorer out of the 3

Marbury is the best PG out of the 3 since he can actually run a pick and roll and make decent passes

Francis is the best dribbler out of the 3.

All 3 of them are cancers but at least Westbrook has a higher ceiling and will win games with his shooting as much as lose them.

WB by a country mile. Marbury 2nd. SF a close 3rd.

The real debate here is between Marbury and SF. This being a Rockets forum, the bias toward SF is obvious. If a poll was taken of unbiased fans old enough to see both in their primes, I bet Marbury would win.

Fair point, but Marbury was also once on a team with another superstar, with Garnett in Minnesota. He wanted out so he could have his own team and be treated like a superstar. Didn't work out so well.

    Francis/Marbury

Westbrook is way ahead of them in his ability to shoot. The current player who should be compared to Francis and Marbury is Tyreke Evans.

Actually the reason that he left Minnesota was because he wanted a bigger role in the offense and they didnt.give it to him

So are you saying Marbury is just as good as Westbrook is? Stephon and Francis were both great street ball players. Westbrook is a winner and he plays incredibly hard. Westbrook is a great 1 on 1 defender and he can pressure the hell out of the ball handler.

Westbrook was more explosive than Stephon Marbury and even though Francis is also extremely athletic, Westbrook is an overall better player than the both of them and regardless of what people say about Westbrook is lucky to play with Durant, it shows that Westbrook is able to be successful playing alongside a superstar.

I was also thinking that... Westbrook is a totally different player from those two. Westbrook is a great player while Marbury and Francis are more like street ball players and Tyreke Evans is more similar to Marbury and Francis than Westbrook.

That's why Marbury and Francis never had successful careers because they try so hard to break someone ankles every time they have the ball in their hands. For Marbury and Francis, most of the times its all about trying to embarrass whoever is guarding them.

After he left the Knicks and the NBA, I think Marbury admitted he was not able to get over his jealousy of KG's 6yr/$126 million contract. That was big of him.
