    what happened to this guy!??

I remember during his rookie year, there were a ton of people praising the spurs for taking a chance on him, and he was actually a pretty good rookie, proving people wrong that he could play well without an ACL.

Now, he is a bench warmer...what happened?

A better player came along and took his spot (Splitter).

He and Budinger were pegged as draft steals of that year, but both of them lost their job to a better player.

Speaking of disappearing rookies, Isiah Thomas and Marshon Brooks have lost all their minutes ever since Brooks and Johnson came along. In fact, looking back at the all-rookie second team last season, Parsons is the only one who stands out.

Pop wants the Spurs to either be big up front or have their big next to Duncan space the floor. Blair offers neither.

He's a decent player - just not what the Spurs want their PF to be. They won't get much for him, but I think they'll try hard to move him at the deadline.

well to be fair, thats because the rockets have not upgraded at that position, nor have they looked to. if we were to somehow get rudy gay, im sure parsons would suffer the same fate as brooks and thomas.

That wasn't the worry. The risk is his next knee injury could be career ending.

I would not mind acquiring Brooks to play for our bench if he can be had on the cheap.

They're still draft steals, esp. C-bud. Blair was a high 2nd rounder, and C-bud was like the 1000448094352525th pick in that draft. You expect 2nd rounders to be out of the league once their contract expires, so getting a stop-gap C/PF who was actually quite good (Blair) and guy traded for the 18th pick (C-bud) was already pretty great value. Besides in the case of Blair it's not that he sucked, Splitter's just better and has a higher ceiling.
