Scola's pretty bad, but there's another argentinian i'd certainly rate above him in the flop stakes.

that doesn't make it right. so basically you're saying scola flops and the clippers flop more.

    so scola is still wrong.

    Worst offensive flopper?

    Not even close.

    Now, defense... that's another story.

if the refs do their job, no way players would have to over react to get the calls. if you dont scream you dont get calls, simple as that

on the other way, the players that just jump in your way while you attack the rim are dangerous and should be punished, seeing them slide at the last moment to fall on their back even if there is minimum contact is just ridiculous, i play basketball and it's easy to stay on your feets even if you take hits, falling is too easy and shouldnt be rewarded

I think it's the Idea of the pot calling the kettle black. Battier can take his blue devil tail and go **** himself with it.

The problem with NBA officiating is that if you don't fall, you don't get the call even if it is a real charge. Worse, you get called for defensive foul if the offensive player runs into you and you don't fall.

It's stupefying how people still don't understand the difference between taking a charge and flopping. Battier takes a lot of hits taking charges. He did say elsewhere that falling backward while taking a charge is a way to lessen the force of the hit. But it's not the same as flopping. Flopping is fabricating a foul when there is none.

the refs should see when there's a charge and not wait for the player to fall. the game against the clippers (not the latest)where griffin "bulldozed" scola by hitting him hard 3 times, it should have been an offensive foul, but scola didnt fall (the only time in the season he could have ^^) so there was no whistle

How could they *really* stop the flopping? Review all game tape and make fines, yes, but I think they just don't want to spend all that time.

Easier idea: Opposing coach can, twice a game, call for instant replay of a flop. If the officials determine it was clearly a flop, the flopping player is ejected from the game.

If, however, the officials find it is not a flop, the coach loses a time-out.

That simple rule would clean it up very quickly. Coaches would only try it when they had a good case, and these idiots wouldn't flop if they could get tossed for it.

"The more hair you have, the better," Battier said with a laugh. "My boy Luis Scola, he’s got that long hair and when it gets sweaty and he starts flopping and flailing, it looks like he’s getting murdered out there."

    the case for dreadlocks.

Wouldn't change a thing, there would still be room for debate and do you seriously think refs do not see players fall down like little girls? Refs could choose not to call them, like they did early in the game @ Clippers, but when it suits them, they call it. Stern and the refs keep it alive and you cannot work around that.
