I jsut got my copy today. Six pages of great stuff about our X factor Wolverine.

The Patrick Beverly Experience is pure hell for every opponent, from weekend warriors to NBA stars. Relentlessly disruptive and unapologetically combative, teh well-travelled point guard gives the Rockets the edge and health permitting-can't to irritate in the postseason...

Much as I love Beverley, I'm not sure if all this attention is a good thing. After that Grantland article people went from not being able to spell his name to constantly calling him a dirty player. (And still not being able to spell his name).

Yeah the Grantland article was posted all over basketball forums and other social media and he got mostly negative attention from it.

Man, when the media latches on to a player, they really latch on. I think Beverley's defense and never-back-down attitude deserves some attention but he has been on the lips of everyone. Beverley is talked about FIRST before Harden and Dwight when they talk about Rockets' playoff chances. Beverley is very important but that is just ridiculous.

Some Players the media has latched on to: Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Avery Bradley

Patrick is the new Bruce Bowen. The media loves an undrafted defensive specialist.

Another thread title misspelling Beverley's name. Did the SI article misspell it, too?

    sigh

I'm glad Bev is getting some attention, though some of it is poor and undeserved. It is what it is though; injure a scrub and no one cares, injure a star and there is a price that needs to be paid.

There's no such thing as "bad" attention. Beverley is now on the radar for an all 1st or 2nd team defense selection. That Grantland article definitely helped that.

hey, Beverley deserves the attention. Let him have his day/s in the sun

he'll be huge for us in the playoffs with all the superstar guards in the WCF

at this rate though, I fear he will re-injure his knee if we don't limit his minutes

just get another win and rest him again.

    Love the Bev hype.

Guy is great for this team and Houston.

Harden, Dwight, Lin, Parsons, and Beverley... Houston has popular/polarizing players. Hopefully the country gets to see PLENTY of them this playoffs.

A lot of times, perception becomes reality. If the perception is that what Beverley does is considered hard nosed defense, then he's less liable to have fouls called against him for things that other players can't get away with. Reputation carries a ton of weight when it comes to defenders.

AGREED! That versatility from Hibbert is complete bull ****. Howard and Asik NEVER get that call when they do it.
