So that's about 30 million a year for each school for just Tier 1 and Tier 2. Texas will be getting about 40-45 million in TV revenue a year including LHN. That's some serious dough.

That's why you had all those kids' table programs like ISU and Baylor Girls Basketball kissing UT's nuts all of those years.

Ziggy, you're entirely full of it to pretend your university didn't benefit from being associated with the University of Texas for 100 years. you're truly playing pee pee games, my friend.

Wait - where did the $30MM/yr come from? The article suggests that the $20MM/yr is the combined result of the ABC/ESPN (Tier 1) and FOX (Tier 2) contracts. That means that the Big12 schools are getting in their newest deal about what Pac12 schools got last year (without the PacNetwork) and what Big10 schools are making now with a relatively outdated contract up for renewal soon.

I cannot wait to play the Aggies in Tuscaloosa.

It's going to be a rude wake up call.

I think this is where the confusion comes from:

Primary is Tier 1 & 2, although that isn't as apparent in the way it is stated here. However, it is apparent if you read this and realize ESPN/ABC = Tier 1 and FOX=Tier 2:

This has the Iraqi Information Minister written allover it. "Look the Big 12 is making the same per school as all the other Elite Conferences (at least for the next couple of months)" The reality is that this deal is better than what they had before, but it remains to be seen if the conference as a whole is better off financially with TCU and WVU than with Mizzou and A&M.

A rude wake up call for what?? None of the Aggies on here (myself included) have ever said the Aggies were going to roll through the SEC. In fact, most of us have said quite the opposite.

No kidding. What wake up call? You mean vindication of their original beliefs?

Every A&M fan, student, and grad I know feels like they're marching straight towards the gates of hell with their pants around their ankles ready to receive satan's giant, firey, spiked wang up their gigem-holes.

    Agreed. The reality is:

Big 12 schools in the next agreement will make $20MM/yr from Tier1/2 and can do what they want with Tier 3.

SEC schools currently make about $20MM/yr, will be renegotiating upwards this year, with hopes for an additional Tier 3 SEC Network (finances unknown).

Pac12 schools signed for $20MM/yr last year and are launching a Tier 3 Pac12 network (est. $10MM/yr)

Big10 schools currently make $20MM/yr with the Big10 Network being their Tier 2, but will get a huge bump with their upcoming Tier 1 renewal.

So the Big12 ceiling (thanks to no Big12 Network) is basically the floor for the other big conferences. Big East and ACC suck from a football perspective, so the Big12 will clearly do better than them, at least. But at the end of the day, each of the schools that left the Big12 should end up making more money than any remaining Big12 school, barring launches of LHN's for the other schools.

Yup. That pretty much explains why OU/OSU were desperate to go to the Pac 12, with or without UT. Texas can make up the difference with the LHN (Tier 3), but for anyone that doesn't have that, it's better to latch on elsewhere if you have that option.

The amusing thing will be, if the Pac12 and SEC Networks get off the ground and generate what is predicted ($10MM+/yr), seeing teams like Washington State, Vanderbilt, and Northwestern generating nearly as much per year as Texas and more than OU a few years from now.

I have no idea if this is true or not, but something I read on another message board. If nothing else, it's interesting to contemplate:
