I wasn't watching back in 1986. It doesn't really factor into my thinking. But then, while disappointed, I'm not as disappointed as some appear to be. I think of McHale primarily for his career in Minnesota.

I would feel different if he brought a championship, or 2, to Houston. If he had played alongside Dream we would've had a dynasty and another HOF player, so yes, I would feel very differently.

Clutch, I love ya, but that Photoshop job looks really lopsided.

Then again, I didn't start watching the Rockets regularly until 1993 (when I got a season schedule as a gift that summer), so maybe the uniforms really were that off-center back then, and I'm the fool here.

But anyway, you never know...maybe this guy will be a pretty good coach. I'll give him a season or two before I make a real judgment...that is, of course, assuming there IS a 2011-12 season.

For those of us who can be objective in our thinking, no. Where McHale used to play has no bearing on how he will do as a coach in the future. For the rest, there is no doubt having a hometown guy would cater to their biases.

No because damage has been done. Kevin McHale fitted the role of a hated Celtic SO WELL. The image of him and his gangly arms and armpits still haunts me. The photoshop of him in a Rockets uniform is too scary. Please take it off!

That wouldn't change my relatively low opinion of him as a coach.

What if we sign Ricky Pierce or Sam Perkins as assistants?

I hope he is in the mold of Rudy T. Now if we can just turn this rag-tag bunch into a serious contender, we just need an All-Star center!
