Jonathan Givony (Draft-Express): Lots of great stories from Larry Brown about coaching Allen Iverson. "I had him 600 games. Took him out 2x per game. He MF'd me 1200 times." That's how it works in real world
If he had played on a team he felt comfortable with, he would have put up close to if not over 20 ppg last year.
you can't have a Iverson thread without this <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/eGDBR2L5kzI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
"I had him 600 games. Took him out 2x per game. He MF'd me 1200 times. I ask the players to play the game the right way 160 times a season and then bail out on them every 2 years" Larry Brown is a hypocrite and a gigantic douche. Iverson was a punk as well. I am glad they enjoyed each other's company.
If he took him out 2x per game, that means he had three stints per game. Play | taken out | Play | taken out | Play 3 times 600 games... wouldn't that be MF'd 1800 games?
Ha Ha That was crack up. If you show that to someone who doesn't know AI, they would think the clip was part of a skit from some comedy show.
Iverson has a HUGE heart but hes by far one of the most overrated players in NBA history and least deserving NBA MVPs ever. People complain that he didn't have talent around him well guess what he finally did in Denver with Melo, Camby (Defensive player of the year) and young guys like JR Smith and Kleiza who are great role players and the team went nowhere.
Are you serious? Iverson led that Sixers team to the finals pretty much all by himself. And, he was past his prime with the Nuggets.
Overrated for most of his career, but he deserved that MVP (I do think Shaq should have won, but AI was deserving).
so confused. What is Brown saying. He played AI 42mpg. He played AI more than any other NBA player those years. no?
Given the makeup of these Sixer teams, Larry Brown probably MF'ed himself every time he had to take Iverson out, too.
