He didnt get suspended because nobody was watching that game! lol jk. IDK I agree with you though. If Rondo gets suspended for the Humphries push, then Jennings should also get suspended for the Beal push.
This was a real hard foul, Garnett's was part bad flop resulting in bad landing, Jennings just wanted to push and let it go, Rondo pushed and never stopped. To put it simple, this wasn't an altercation.
because Humphries is a pansy and allowed a 6'1" guy to push him all the way into the stands. Stern and Co. is not nearly as concerned about players pushing each other on the court as he is about players pushing each other in and around the folks in those high dollar seats.
KG's foot was behind Hump's but it did not trip him. He had good footing on his way back, he just kept getting pushed by Rondo. I don't plan to go back and forth with one of those internet forum "he was tripped" guys that pops up anytime someone is embarrassed but I'll just post the video for comparisons sake. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/jXYVoiRgxWk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
My favorite part of the video, Jennings starts grabbing the thighs of his shorts and pulling them up- That is a veteran playground fighting stance. He meant business.
I'm pretty sure reputation is a huge part of how the NBA hands out suspensions. People call for Ron Artest's head everytime he does something even remotely bad. Whereas someone like Jennings, with no history, isn't going to really going to get a big time slap.
Subjective arbitrary handlings, and some double standards of course on certain people. Really the Celtcs/Nets rulings were a bit punitive. Rondo shoulda just got 1 game if Jennings gets none. Gerald Wallace didnt do anything, just got randomly picked out cuz he looked "intimidating", but he coulda been token "player leaving bench" ejection based on the rule. Humphries got pushed into the stands before he even knew what was going on. While Humphries is an easy deserving target, 3 guys helped push him back not just Rondo. And yeah this happening in the NY/BOSTON big market, gotta protect the interests there. No one cares what happens in Milwaukee and the Wizards
