Our defense would be terrible, but our offense would be like an all-star game.

Yes... I fully believe this actually. It's a longshot, but if Carmelo makes it clear he's leaving, I bet the Rockets make a strong push for a trade.

Saw this coming a few weeks ago; thought about it today, as well.

I buy this 100%. Longshot, but that "Dwight Howard is advising Melo" talk opened my eyes to it a bit.

I honestly believed that we would've got him at the Deadline.

Of course, unless Chandler isn't around somehow.

    I agree.

It makes perfect sense to make the play for another All Star caliber player if you can get one, whether you think it's a perfect fit or not.

Melo is clearly the best player in the trade, and his offensive scoring ability can't really be denied. You take a hit on defense, on the other hand if he integrates into the team you'll pretty much dominate on the offensive end.

The question of course is the asking price... Asik + Lin would be required, the real question is What else do they want? I could easily see Tjones being part of that package. And after that? Picks? Parsons? Hard to say...

What'll you do when you get lonely
And nobody's waiting by your side?
You've been running and hiding much too long.
You know it's just your foolish pride.

Layla, you've got me on my knees.
    Layla, I'm begging, darling please.
Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind.

I tried to give you consolation
When your old man had let you down.
Like a fool, I fell in love with you,
Turned my whole world upside down.

Layla, you've got me on my knees.
    Layla, I'm begging, darling please.
Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind.

Let's make the best of the situation
    Before I finally go insane.
Please don't say we'll never find a way
And tell me all my love's in vain.

Layla, you've got me on my knees.
    Layla, I'm begging, darling please.
Layla, darling won't you ease my worried mind.

Melo where he's the 3rd man turns into Olympics/All-Star game Melo.

    THAT Carmelo is scary.

I don't believe Melo is a drop off on defense over Parsons or Jones

I just don't know how it would work on offense with Dwight, Harden, and Carmelo.

All 3 of them like to iso whether it's Dwight in the post or Harden and Carmelo going one on one.

In order for all 3 of them to get their touches, the offense would be a lot of iso ball.

You would just make Harden the effective PG and have him dump touches into the post for Melo/Dwight. That and occasionally have Melo initiate the play from the elbow and hope he passes out.

As fit goes, Melo/Harden/Dwight is TONS better than Chandler/Melo/STAT.
