So, every year I do find in my opinion most underrated player in NBA draft and this year is not exception. I do hope we atleast invite him into our camp before draft day. This year it's (drum sound) Jean Pierre Tokoto! Spoiler 6'6" and 200lbs 2-guard from North Carolina Tar Heels: - 6'9'' wingspan - probably most athletic 2-guard in this years draft - great defender (played soccer until age 13, good lateral quickness, active hands, usually defends best player on the court) - high bbIQ - great court vision (averaged 4.3 assists in 29 minutes this year) - good ball handling and can finish with either hand (changes speed, finish hard) - great on a fast-break (fast, can finish through contact) - improved shooting range and mechanics (his 3pt% and ft% were better this year) The only holding him from 1st round is his shooting range - he didn't shot from behind the arc much in NCAA (just about once a game), his FG% also went down this year from 49% to 43% (although his 3pt% and ft% were better). Still inconsistent offensively - one day he may collect 5 assists, other days he may make 4 and more turnovers. Currently mid-late 2nd rounder. But just watch his shooting mechanics, his shot looks really good, this offseason he's working on expanding his range as well.

UNC's J.P. Wouldn't mind him. I can't really imagine him doing anything if KJ McDaniels didn't see any PT. But he would be a decent store at RGV with a 2nd round pick.

UNC guard J. P. Tokoto talks about improving his shooting mechanics, getting invited to the NBA Draft Combine and what he hopes to show NBA teams. VIDEO: J.P. Tokoto
He's extremely similar to KJ, but I think between the 2 of them you'll have your Ariza/Brewer replacements in 2-3 years. Wouldn't be a bad 2nd round stash, as you mentioned - just have both players focus on their shot...that's a major weakness for them.
Apart from size, defense and athletism they have nothing in comon. KJ has pretty low bbIQ, can't create offense, poor court vision, his poor mentality didn't changed since college. Tokoto at the other hand can create offense for others, great court vision, high bbIQ, great mentality on and off the court. If he shows up in NBA Draft Combine his stock may jump into 1st round or early second.
I disagree. Tokoto's BBall IQ is fairly poor IMO, just look at how frustrated he gets on the court and the idiotic jump shots he takes despite being a sub-par shooter. Also, his on-court mentality was brought into question numerous times and was the primary knock on him (something that never happened with KJ @ Clemson - where is his "poor mentality" coming from?). Also, the size, defense, athleticism, and poor shot they have in common is actually a lot...
From one of the scouting reports: Spoiler
Second leading scorer, great numbers - made 3-pointer, 2 mid-range shots and 3 dunks Waiting for max vertical&no step vertical results...

Boxscore from the first game of the NBA Combine. What is your take on JP Tokoto? Does he have a chance of getting drafted late in the second round? Will he be on an NBA team next season? Kevin Pelton (12:33 PM) There's certainly a chance he gets drafted in the second round, and if so that he's on an NBA team next season. I have him projected as a below-replacement NBA player. He would not be in my top 60 prospects.
Pros: Athletic Played for Roy, players generally underperform at Carolina Cons: Can't block shot Non-elite size Shaky college shooting stats, but his workout video shows that his shot is fairly acceptable Didn't develop (much) in 3 years at UNC At best average basketball IQ, Bone headed plays while in game
Did well yesterday, may be elite defender one day. His stock raise up to early 1st (34), we have 32nd pick.

Here's the Final Box Score for Game 2 at the NBA Draft Combine pic.twitter.com/K0leXY3vRx
— Chad Ford (@chadfordinsider) May 15, 2015
