not sure bout intimidation but more like frustration that our government just welcoming them like some kinda vip. Those who were chanting also were letting illegal aliens know that you can't just cross a country's border like it's your backyard and expect our government to give you hand outs and freebies. This is not about anti illegal immigrants or anti Hispanics, this is about migrating to a country the LEGAL way, whether you're 10 yr old or 60 yr old.
at least Rick Perry cares enough about the border crisis to go down there and check it out. Obama? Nah he's busy fundraising and playing pool...
First off these children weren't being treated like VIP's. They were in custody being bussed from one holding center to another. Further as has been noted the Obama administration has deported more illegal immigrants than previous Administrations and has all but admitted that most of these children are going to be deported. I don't know what you think is intimidation but that sounds like intimidation to me. Yes just like all those Europeans migrated went about it legally with the Natives. Just like all those people who changed their names and lied about who they were and what country they were from at Ellis Island. Just like Chinese immigrants who had lie to skirt the Exclusion acts came here legally.
shocking reminder of what an effective executive sounds like <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/GWdUmaY5i_E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
How is a show of force of national guardsmen effective executive leadership? What does it matter if National Guardsmen "send a message?" How will that change the current reality? Rick Perry has no answers. Unless the national guardsmen will begin shooting on children and families, it will have no chilling effect. If he was serious about leadership, he would call for dismantling of the provisions relating to treatment of juveniles in the 2002 HSA and the 2008 TVPRA and/or increased amount of judges to process cases as well as increased internal apprehension efforts (I don't agree with any of that, but it is at least something that might actually get at what you and Perry want). Since he is just calling for a show of force, it tells me that he has no idea why these kids are coming or how he would stop them under the current law. It's pretty lousy leadership to not know what the problem is or how to fix it, but simply throw out a bunch of useless effort to simply look like you are being effective. I guess you sound good enough to the know-nothings that they will share your interview clip on the interwebs, so there's that. The fact that you don't understand the depths of ignorance and toothlessness of Perry's response is staggering (but not really).
See post #82. Obviously, the kids are coming by sea, with rockets and rabies ... and only Governor Rambo Perry and his trusty machine gun can stop them. He saw it himself.
This issue shows that there is no appeasing Obama critics. Obama proposes dealing with the millions who are already here by finding a way to mainstream them into our country and he get's criticized. Obama deports hundreds of thousands yearly and he get criticized. Obama asks for more money to deal with the influx so they can get deported faster and he get's criticized. Those blasting Obama on this issue from the right have no real plan other than some fantasy of building a Berlin Wall along the border which even if Obama adopted they probably would criticize him for it.
Totally false, and complete intellectual laziness from you. Obama can close the central american immigrant loophole. See the other thread.
You should run for president, I would definitely vote for you. Those debates would be a beautiful thing to see.
I saw the other thread. That said consider that Boehnor is suing Obama over this and one of the frequent complaints you cite is Obama unilaterally using executive action so now you are saying should use executive action to change the law. Talk about intellectual laziness. Once again no appeasing Obama critics.
change what law (no. i did not read the article in the other thread. I am being lazy so I understand if you don't want to respond)?
I thought congress is responsible for writing and amending laws. Did something change since 7th grade?
