Definitely some great points here. I am only giving Jones the benefit of the doubt because it was only his 2nd year and 1st year playing. He has shown some great flashes and if he can develop a bit he will be a strong player in this league.

Part of my ranking was also performance in clutch time and big games. After watching Rondo in the playoffs the last 5 or so years, I can say he comes up big in big games. As for Love, he puts up great numbers but based off my non-scientific "eye test" doesn't seem to come up in clutch time and impact the game as much as his numbers suggest. I think Rondo would help the most in terms of our offense bogging down towards the end of the game because he can get our guys easier shots.

I'm sure Love will be great here if we indeed get him and will happily eat crow.

I'm sure this is unlikely but in the off chance the heat lose in this round or the finals and bosh became available, where would you guys rank him? I personally think bosh would fit better than all the other frontcourt options. He's a bit older and higher salary, but I think he'd be the better fit.

I voted Rondo, but that would be correct only if the team roster otherwise remains the same. There is no simple answer to this. It depends on the other potential changes. If the nucleus remains Howard-Harden axis, Rondo would would contribute most to it. The others would require a serious change in the overall setup.

Deron Williams is a liability, not an asset. No team in the NBA should even take him for free. I'd rather Asik (asset) for picks than for Williams

Come on, he lacks leadership, he's a diva (got HoF Sloan cryin'), and pretty much set the Jazz franchise back a decade. No thanks

I'm not here to defend him,but when people say rondo is a poor shooter and he doesn't fit or you need a pick and pop guy, I think they're wrong. 3 pt shooting doesn't equate to a good shooter, its more of the range of the shooter. Rondo is a pretty good shooter, but his range is 16-18 ft or so. If anyone look up his shot chart and look at the rate at which he knocks those shots down, its pretty good. Those same people will bring up Howard down low. When Rondo penetrates, because he can get into the paint vs anyone, the center has to help. When that help comes, it opens howard to off rebs, ally oops, and just easier shots.

In terms of rondo and pick and pop, I think the roll has been missing badly. The most famous combo,stockton-malone was pnr for 13 yrs until malone turned into a good pop shooter. A hard roll to the rim creates easy baskets on the backside and frontside.

Pretty much similar to my reasoning. I would not touch Deron Williams and certainly not with his outrageous contract. That contract is enough to shut down a team for a few years.

Rockets are in desperate need of a defensive leader.

Give me the proven champion who won it on a team with a top-notch defensive identity. Give me the clutch ball handler in the half court who consistently creates shots for more than just himself. Give me a fighter.

    RONDO.

First choice is Kevin Love but my gut says it'll be Carmelo Anthony we'll eventually end up with. Either way, i'd be extremely ecstatic!

With McHale still on board, we're going to need an alpha dog.. Howard isn't an alpha dog... He's a "hip hip hooray, believe in yourself" cheerleader, which can work with guys like Lin, and maybe Parsons, but not guys like Harden...

Even Elie and Hakeem's peptalks didn't faze him for game 5...

Right now, the problem with our roster, is that with no one to challenge him, Harden's assumed that role.... and he's the one whose play and attitude needs to be questioned and challenged the most by either a competent coach or a capable teammate that he can respect...

No to Williams. He's past his prime. Not a huge fan of Rondo either, but he's the lesser of the two evils. Anthony would destroy this team, because we have enough ego as it is.

Although I'm against changing this team too much, I can see Love working well with the current players.

I love to have some Love in here. Constant bickering is too much of a headache.

I like the idea of a defensive bulldog who can actually harass the likes of Parker, CP3, Dragic, Westbrook and remember Lillard....

    My vote goes to Rondo

Any of those guys and you lose Asik. Love is the only one who is going to offset the loss in rebounds per game. He will score, and space the floor for Harden to drive and Dwight to post up.

    Out of those four, Love.

But, I actually might prefer to have Lowry or Dragic back than any of those guys, honestly.

To me, it's not close. Kevin Love.

Rondo would be 2nd, and do NOT want an aging, douchey Deron Williams or a ballhog Carmelo.
