I really and truly think this is the sign that Cuban is winding down his basketball dabbling days. He won his championship, so now he'll try to get the Mavs in a decent enough place to sell to a chump or group of chumps.

The Monta signing makes a ton of sense from a near-term earnings sense. He is entertaining as hell, plays hard and will help them win a few extra games.

But from a long-term basketball sense, I agree with everyone saying this doesn't make sense. It's just not a move for someone who wants to own his team for the next decade.

Lawls have fun with a ball hogging chucker Dallas. Get Dirk Nowitzki out of there, he deserves another shot at a ring before his career is done, preferably in Houston

    Yeah, sure.

Texas team clears a bunch of cap room, but fails to land their primary target --- Dwight Howard. So they go to plan B, which involves handing a so-so point guard a ridiculous $25 million 3-year contract just 'cuz he's famous. They aimed for a superstar, but walk away with an overpaid $25 million point guard with no jumpshot and a so-so game. The team spends the rest of the summer humbled by the experience, looking like delusional fools for even thinking they had a chance to land a superstar like Dwight.

Did I just describe Dallas this summer? Or Houston last summer?
