-Doesn't know why people watch the draft on TV. Impossible to tell what's happening. ... We have sources, assistant GMs and folks calling each other. ... I don't know how they fix it. -(Jordan Knight) Concert didn't matter to us. No worries. We were bunkered down fine. -(Staff--what you have today is what you'll start the season with?) Still up in the air. Still some jobs open. I won't know for sure. More likely than not this is our staff but there is a chance that some of our guys get another interview. -(Head coach & another team like the Celtics, is that a concern?) That was the strangest rumor. It was really bizarre. It shows, I don't want to complain about the media, but I think people were guessing. Danny & Kevin are best friends. The bond is deep. Kevin's like, when we thought we might go through a tough year before the Harden trade, Kevin was not in a good place. Kevin is so excited to coach how the team might be coming up. You saw the direction Boston is going in. That was a rumor, made no sense. -(Isaiah Canaan) The real deal we think. Has pressure to live up to with our picks in the 30s. We had some luck in there. A guy we really like fell in Isaiah. A great shooter but can also take people off the bounce, can pass better than people think. ... We were surprised he didn't come out his junior year. He's 6 feet tall. Wingspan is average, vertical is the highest in the NBA of any of the ones last year. The idea he's a non-athlete is strange. He's thick. He can defend the position better than people think. Much better to be 6 feet and thick and athletic than 6'3 and not as athletic if you're gonna hold your own on the defensive end. Shooting is at a premium. He can step in, if we take an injury, he can potentially help right away. We valued that more than normal. -(We know how you attacked Gortat, Lewis, & Bosh. As it pertains to comparing your attack to acquire those players, how would you describe your plan of attack this year?) I think it's better and also our odds look better. We went in the Bosh free agency with knowing that was a long shot. The only thing we were risking was my time and the caravan's time. The folks we're planning to meet with, I think our odds are looking better. -(Something unique or out of the ordinary being planned?) I think it's more unique but I don't know how to define that. -(Les more involved this off-season? Is that more important this time around? Is the owner involvement with free agency important?) I'd say this, players are getting smarter. Mr. Alexander is very behind the scenes. That (ESPN the Magazine) article was a little bit out of character. Part of it is, what's happened is the players want to know the owner they're going to be with. ... Players aren't worried about the coach or GM, they're worried about the owner they're going to be with. Because of that, it's important the owner gets a little more involved in free agency, that is a trend in the league. -(Any part of you happy, proud, excited to see the first guy under your tree, Sam Hinkie, and what happened last night and what he did? That took some serious balls to do what he did) I thought he killed it. He got a guy who could have gone number one. He got another great pick in Carter-Williams. He got a future first. He did a lot of interesting things in the second round. Then he made his own pick better. It was a very good night for him.
I've enjoyed the CH heel turn, it's been a lot of fun. If you are any sort of Wrestling fan, you probably get the biggest kick out of the heel turn. I will personally be a little bit saddened when Robinson is traded and CH goes back to being a face.
