http://blog.chron.com/newswatch/2012/04/hisd-social-media-to-blame-for-lamar-high-school-riot/ That second video was crazy...
Ridiculous, those kids parents need to come down hard on their kids - stuff like that should not be tolerated. DD
What is the economic situation of most of the Lamar students? Is the school in an affluent area, or is it in a poor area? DD
i fought worse than that with my brothers, fights happen, nothing dangerous outside the ordinary in those videos
It's suppose to be a nice high school, and it's located off of Westheimer. I remember they had a good magnet program there. I'm not sure about now.
Class of '99 here, yeah we had school fights but what happens in school stays in school... Fock You Twitter!!!
Poor area? It's right across the street from a part of River Oaks. No idea where all of these "gangsta's" are bussed in from. That's where my "soon to be" child is supposed to go to high school. Lulz, not gonna happen.
High school kids are stupid. I can kick all of their asses. My belief, it's not worth fighting for if it's second place.
HISD said it is fake/staged. They came to the conclusion by their and the police's monitoring of the student's social media accounts.
What do you mean bussed in? Why cant they be from River Oaks? Also, is your child going to be one of those private school jabronis?
The national media giving them what they want. I hate fight videos that get undeserved hits due to the media posting them.
I say bussed in because I drive through there, right beside the school 3 times a week. I see them getting off of busses. Pretty hard to understand isn't it, Ag? Yes, my kid will be a private school junky just like his poppa.
Class of '03 here. The school is located in a nice area, but the principal was pretty bad. The school was accepting students from all over and we got plenty students that were zoned to Yates, among others. It's probably just gossip, but kids were saying that the school would get $$ from the state for every student they take not zoned there. I don't even know if that stuff happens, but regardless it shows how bad the situation there have gotten for those rumors to have circulated. I think a year or two after I graduated the school went on a free dive to ghetto street. I heard they eventually implemented uniforms and see-thru backpacks. I remember the orchestra got worse every year I was there. I wonder how the school is doing now. I'm glad I got out before things got worse.
