If a country band made a song saying that a President shouldn't be killed, I doubt Jesse Jackson would be upset.

    A Letter to the Law

    Dem boy wanna talk… [indistinguishable]

Whatcha gon do if ya got one gun?

I sing a song for the hero unsung

with faces on the mural of the revolution

No looking back cos’ in back is what’s done

Tell the preacher, God got more than one son

Tell the law, my Uzi weighs a ton

    I walk like a warrior,

    from them I won’t run

On the streets, they try to beat us like a drum

    In Cincinnati, another brother hung

A guinea won’t see the sun

    with his family stung

They want us to hold justice

    but you handed me none

The same they did to Kobe and Michael Jackson

    make them the main attraction

    Turn around and attack them

    Black gem in the rough

    You’re rugged enough

Use your mind and nine-power, get the government touch

Them boys chat-chat on how him pop gun

I got the black strap to make the cops run

They watching me, I’m watching them

Them dick boys got a lock of **** in them

My people on the block got a lot of pok* in them

    and when we roll together

we be rocking them to sleep

No time for that, because there’s things to be done

Stay true to what I do so the youth dream come

    from project building

    Seeing a fiend being hung

With that happening, why they messing with Saddam?

Burn a Bush cos’ for peace he no push no button

    Killing over oil and grease

    no weapons of destruction

How can we follow a leader when this a corrupt one

The government’s a g-unit and they might buck young black people

Black people In the urban area one

I hold up a peace sign, but I carry a gun.

    Peace, ya’ll.”

again, if the same was said about Obama, all hell would break loose

They don't hate black people, but they'll dabble in race baiting to hate on Democrats.

Any trick in the book to trash Dems.

    Uh....George H. W. Bush invited EASY-E to lunch.

No one cared about that...Please, look at E's lyrics.

You pulled the same lyrics from one song that every negative Nancy at Fixed News looked at. If you think that segment of the song is not implying a metaphor or some sort of symbolism as well, you don't understand the function of a poet.

I do believe country bands have sung about carrying a gun. I believe that people in the tea party have carried real guns to rallies.

Are you upset when tea party party members carry real guns to rallies and Republican members of congress want to have their guns with them or only when Common writes about carrying a gun?

No one has a problem with him saying he carries a gun. That was the only part of the poem I liked
It reminds me of "Speak softly and carry a big stick".

People have a problem with the the Burn Bush and the glorification of terrorists and cop killers.

Can you imagine if Bush has invited someone that spoke out against interracial relationships (except to have sex with them, that's cool)? The media would have a field day.

LOL, off the top of my head, George W. Bush nominated a member of the CCC, f/k/a the White Citizens Council (look it up, I doubt you have any idea what it was) to sit on the United States Court of Appeals. This was when he was not busy trying to add discrimination against sexual orientation into the constitution.

The amount of casual and hardcore racist, misogynists, bigots and other clowns who passed through his doors on his watch is literally too long to even start naming names. Many of them, e.g. Rick Santorum, of course, had official "R-s" after their names. Now they're busy running for president.

Be honest with me, Commodore, are you an actual poster, posting actual thoughts? Or just ****ing around, because you really embarrass yourself pretty much every time you hit "submit reply". Maybe you should use the "preview" button to reflect upon, and thus deter you from, future humiliation.

    Good night, sweet prince.

Just b/c Bush sucked at president, means Obama get's a free pass to suck as well ?

That will be the Democrat excuse come election time. "well bush stunk it up, Obama has not done any worse"

"Burn a Bush" doesn't mean "Kill." It's a metaphor and burning bushes are an evocative image. You can't say "Burn and Obama" because it doesn't make sense. But saying "Burn a Bush" means to kill Bush is like saying that "Kick Obama out of the White House" means to actually physically kick him out the door.

I'm just going to say it, if you think Common is a thug, you are probably a racist. Thugs are criminals, period. So if he hasn't broken a law or done something violent, how is he a thug? You can call somebody a "thug" within a sport because they break the rules therefore in the context of that sport they are thugs and it's understood we aren't talking about being an actual thug, but there is no context for calling Common a thug. It's just a standard racist way to describe black people.

Common has spent his entire career speaking out against the thugs/violence and educating the public. ****ing ridiculous how r****ded Fox News listeners/defenders are.

If you want to talk about thugs, why not start with that dumb b****, Sarah Palin? She openly called for violence (and I don't have to take words out of context to prove that, her statements are, what they are) and put out a hitlist (yes, an actual hitlist, not using the word bush in a metaphor, an actual hitlist, with names and crosshairs). Somebody on that list got shot, and you braindead r****ded crooks use your spin power to convince your r****ded following that the two are not related. Smmfh.
