Now we know why North Korea was named as a problem along with Iraq.

I'd be happy if North Korea's attacking ability would go bye-bye,...if you know what i mean...

Now we know why North Korea was named as a problem along with Iraq.

I don't think anyone doubted that North Korea was trying to develop Nukes and other WMDs. The question was if that makes them evil. And what makes them dangerous as opposed to the many other nations that have WMD?

The thing with North Korea is that they've really pretty much hang out by themselves, isolated from the rest of the world. There's no real evidence that they support terrorism or anything else (as far as I know). There's no evidence that they inherently hate the US either outside of sanctions. They would be thrilled to have "normal" relations with us and engage in trade and such. I think that's the primary difference between Iraq and North Korea.

The only thing that makes NK a threat unlike France or some other WMD destruction country is that we don't like them. Is that justification to attack them? If we were in their position with an entire world that basically hates our tiny little country, we'd want nukes too.

I say we just take over the whole world and establish an American Empire. It would solve lots of problems I think.

    Major--

I think you make an excellent point. That argument does not work as to Iraq, but as to North Korea it seems to be a solid argument. The fly in the proverbial ointment here is that North Korea entered into an agreement with the US (and separately with the rest of the world) that they would not seek to acquire these weapons. They are breaking that agreement. Is attacking them the right thing to do? I am unsure about that. If not, then the question becomes...what DO you do? I am glad that making those decisions is not my job...I don't know what we should do about it. I just know that something has to be done.

Give them to China in exchange for Iraq. Let China take it.
