Sorry this isn't any juicy Facebook relationship drama. Just a technical problem. A friend of my wife sent her a message via Facebook, and my wife's email received a notification email about the message. Then, it sent another one 20 minutes later, and sends one every 20 minutes nonstop. She turned off her email notifications but the emails keep coming. She deleted the message in Facebook, but the emails keep coming. No other Facebook message does this, just this one. I went looking around Facebook's help page, and they don't seem to record this issue. I reported it to them as a bug. However, they don't seem to have any actual customer service, so reporting the bug likely won't do much to stop the emails. So, don't anyone have any suggestions on how to make the emails stop, or else how to get ahold of Facebook to make them make it stop?
Block the incoming address? Of course, that would have the undesired side-effect of blocking all incoming notifications.
Try deactivating the page. Not deleting but deactivate. It saves all your friends and stuff but makes your page temporarily inactive.
Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't even work. It's made me wonder if maybe it was phishing or something like that. But, the sender email matches other Facebook notifications exactly. Could it be a hotmail glitch?
sorry to derail, but... F'n FB is really a death sentance for a relationship...ive never had a g/f while on FB and she's upset that I didn't post stuff like "i'm at dinner w/ my g/f" or "I'm at the mall with my g/f", "post a picture of us together", "put we're in a relationship" etc...wtf, seriously? is this how its suppose to work? end of rant...carry on...
i just changed the email addy on my account to a bs yahoo act i use for all my bs email that i dont want to actually read but require emails to sign up for
I just got married and as a result we both shut down our Facebook profliles and made one together. It sounds cheezy but its a good step down the long difficult road of a happy marriage.
