I think Indiana should be listed higher than an honorable mention. They had an all-star talent in Jermaine O'Neal when he was in his prime. Ron Artest was not completely crazy yet and was still young, quite athletic, and mobile. Jamaal Tinsley was one of the most promising point guards at that time. They had a solid sixth man in Al Harrington. Players like Jeff Foster, Fred Jones, Austin Croshere knew their role on the team. And tying it all together was the veteran presence of Reggie Miller. That team won 61 games in the regular season.
How about not ****ing posting the entire ****ing free column? Or is that too ****ing complicated for this board to remember?
Kelly made a list of the 'best teams not to win a title' and put that Cleveland team #1, forgetting the fact that the team which destroyed his #1, the Orlando magic, also did not win a title. What kind of logic is this, he didn't even have the Magic team on the list!
The Rockets were the only team in the league to take the lakers to 7 games last year. Therefore the Rockets are the second best team in the league.
You can't say that because the Rockets didn't play those other teams. You can definitely say that Orlando was better than Cleveland, because Orlando whooped Cleveland's ass.
How could the 2008/2009 Rockets not make the list? Brooks T-Mac Artest Scola Yao Lowry, Landry, Battier, Wafer, Hayes, Deke off the bench.
LeBron does not have a good enough team around him. The Magic exposed their holes (perimeter defense and bigmen). They blew out sub-500 Detroit and a hobbled Atlanta team. That is what a 60+ win team is supposed to do. The fact is, Mo Williams is one of the most inconsistent starting PGs in the game, HE GOT OUTPLAYED BY RAFER ALSTON, THE MAGIC BACKUP PG. I don't think Cleveland would stand a chance against the Kings or Blazers. Those teams were LOADED.
Glad to see that even when the Cavs aren't playing, they can still get blown by the media. I am so sick and tired of all this LeBron and Cavs love. its sickening. I would love to see how good the league "MVP" would be if he didnt get every single call imaginable. Someone touches him on the three point line, he takes five steps without dribbling lays it in, and gets the continuation for the 3 point play. If only the NBA was a sport instead of a business where they make its best players seem ever better with favorable calls. ah the frustration
Another Dwyer tribute to LeBron. Sigh. Why am I not surprised? They ran through two sub-par teams and lost in convincing fashion to the Magic. Can anyone say overrated? Just because they could beat up on weak teams (there were a lot of them last year, whether due to injuries or otherwise), doesn't make them Bulls-like. I wish that the 'best player in the game' could shoot a J. That would be quite something.
