Er, yeah, I liked Pineapple Express a lot more than Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I guess I just liked the characters more. And it seemed more outlandish to me. I dunno, I like stoner flicks. There were a few scenes in PE that had me laughing so hard there were tears. FSM was kind of like, "Oh, hah, yeah, that's funny."

Forgetting Sarah Marshall wasn't a Judd Apatow movie, and neither was Pineapple Express.

FSM was Jason Segel's brainchild, and PE was Seth Rogen / Evan Goldberg (same as Superbad)

Apatow actually produced both movies, in addition to Drillbit Taylor and gasp You Don't Mess With Zohan in 2008

the only movie he produced and directed was The 40 Year Old Virigin and Knocked Up.

his next movie he is directing is "Funny People"

the plot seems like it showed too much but still looks gold, even has Jason Schwartzman and Eric Bana to the mix

Saw the movie today and thought it was fantastic.

    "IN YOUR FACE!!!"

I thought the acting was really top notch, well written and had a good pace to it. Loved Rashida Jones...interesting seeing her in a big role. Also nice to hear she enjoy's giving bj's.

This has to be Rudd's best performance to date.

    Some of my favorite moments:

*Gay kiss scene...that dude was great.
*Enjoyed seeing the guys from Human Giant
*Rudd puking in Jon Favreau face
*Rudd trying to act cool and making up nicknames and cool phrases. I was busting a gut each time.
*Favreau's dirty talk with Jamie Presley

I'm about to go see it at Memorial City at 9:40. Hope it's good. Does it top the funny in Role Models?

I think so. Better all around story. And I loved Role Models.

I saw it today, thought it was great. I love how they turned the standard rom com ending on it's head.

Paul Rudd's awkwardness was hilarious and had me cringing so hard. It was like the similar feeling you get watching Curb Your Enthusiasm. If I had a pillow my head would have been under it due to my empathetic embarrassment for Rudd's character.

Rashida Jones was cute, Jaime Pressley is freakin' sexy, and the other girl friend reminded me of Kristen Wiig the way she acted around Jason Segal's character.

I'm surprised nobody started a Rush thread after seeing it.

not a great movie or anything, just another goofy comedy for nerdy people (mostly). It was a decent movie though, and miles ahead of Pin Express, which to me is a solid candidate for worst movie of the decade. But then again, I am sure it appeals to a certain demographic so no knock on those who like that type of stuff, its just not for me. I find that Seth Rogen (is that his name?) generally sucks, he is best in a supporting role just not as one of the main guys.

And I agree Rashida is pretty cute, not a knockout, but definitely cute.

I would like to see this movie, also. Mostly because of the cast.

As for Funny People, that movie looks awesome. The cast looks stupendous. Can't wait for it.

watched it again today, I gotta say, its no HILARIOUS/over the top like other Apatow movie, in essence, I'd probably say its a "mature" like Apatow movie, the cursing is toned down, and the d!ck/fart jokes aren't there every 5 mins.

The best way of describing it is I'd recommend this to my parents and wouldn't feel awkward to say that they watched it.

btw, nice to see they showed pretty much every Apatow veteran actress/actor trailers before the movie with Funny People, Year One, Observe and Report (which looks the worst out of the 3, but looks better than Paul Blart).
