The Houston Chronicle version from Jonathan Feigen.......

5 to 6 hours late than those from Sohu.com's Zhang Yi.

Notice the quotes of Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady......almost in exact wording and meaning from Zhang Yi's. This probably means those are genuine quotes from Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady, and that Chinese websites do not normally fabricate stories.

Well, of course it's gonna be 5 - 6 hours late. The information has to travel from Houston, all the way to China, get reported, get responses, then travel back to Houston. Go through editing... then publically released.

What? You don't expect us to actually deliver timely, in-dpeth reporting from our own local NBA team in an efficient, accurate manner do you? You must be thinking of the Astros (you know... our MLB team that's never won a championship).

He is being taking a jab at the Chronicle, accusing it of not doing a very good job of covering its hometown basketball team when online news services from China are doing a better job.

well jabbing at the chronicle is like pushing over one legged r****ded children...its just too easy.

but leave the astros out of it, for christ sakes, they been one of the better organization for the last 10 years and there is no need to remind people that they never won a championship....like im sure no one realized that

its like mentioning that china's never won a gold in basketball (payback)

Yao Ming came as usual 2 hours earlier to Toyota Centre before the game (with Miami Heat) to join the team practice. He can do most of the movements now, except still rusty, as he himself admitted that he has yet to get up to speed with his speed and strength.

And according to the latest article from Wang Meng, after the MRI he went through, the doctors were still hesitant to give him the permission for playing contact basketball........

In Wang Meng's latest article, there was only 1 sentence at the end saying the doctors did not give greenlight for Yao Ming to resume playing contact basketball. Genuinely hope that is not true.....

I thought he wasn't supposed to be cleared for contact drills until 2 weeks from now anyway. I think that's what JVG was referring to in his "if you can practice you can play", that if you can do normal contact drills you can play.

    Thanks for posting that.

I love the Rocky style music and the extra comments from Falsone and Yao. It's like watching the extended cut of the Lord of the Rings only better.

I don't think ESPN actually has much knowledge here. Yao said himself he'll be back in 2 weeks, so that's what I'm going by right now.
