Congrats RM95! Nothing better than being in love. This is going on 10 years for the misses and me, and I can honestly say we have never had any doubts about being together. Its been one 10 year honeymoon. Here are some rules that help us stay happy. 1. Trust each other because if you don't have trust you don't have a relationship. 2. Compromise because you are never going to agree on everything. 3. Make sure you tell them you love them at least once a day even though they already know. 4. Never go to sleep mad at each other. 5. Don't take each other for granted because it is easy to do.
Personally, I think bended knee is crap. Flowers and a ring are crap, also. What I would do is recall her favorite restaurants/hangouts/etc. If she liked an area of town, I'd take her there straight from the airport. Find a place within that area for a glass of wine (that you brought). Follow that with a trip to her favorite areas's restaurant. After the meal, go to an area near the place and propose all over again. I'm sorry, but if you want this to stick, you should make this as memorable as possible. (and... if all else fails, play her this.
It went really well last night. We're both very committed to the relationship and both say that divorce is never an option from here on out. Any mistakes that have been made in the past by either party have been wiped away and we're starting over with a clean slate. I can't tell you how great it was to wake up with her next to me. Now, off to the store to buy some eggs for my left over Seven Finger Pork Chop from Perry's.
