Vince is cool. Not my favorite choice for a QB, but fun to watch.

I only dislike some of his CF.net supporters really.

Of course it does. Prejudice comes in all insidious shapes and forms. But we tend to lose our "social-conscious" credibility when we start identifying race as the sole reason people must not like a certain person unless there is a reasonable reason to do so -- and I think you'd agree with that.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

The "I want to have VY babies" crowd try to weasel him into EVERY FREAKIN' discussion on the Texans. It's friggin' annoying. There's so much VY ManLove going on that A LOT of us can't take it. If there weren't the over the top "VY is God" fans then there probably wouldn't be any VY haters.

Face it, VY haters exist to balance out the VY worshipers.

    YOU CREATED US TINMAN!!!!!

how about the times when VY supporters like interject a post in a thread that has nothing to do with Vince Young? or how they like to constantly remind us that the Texans were created b/c of Steve Patterson *cough* tinman *cough* that is totally irrelevant to the subject. i guess that's not annoying at all.

Honestly, if you can't see that most of that is sarcasm, you have a lot to learn, my friend.

Also, when dealing with the Texans, why is discussing Vince off limits? Because it hurts your feelings? He was a legitimate choice for the Texans and they once again made a poor decision. I guess Texans fans are just supposed to forget about mistakes by management and drink the Kool-Aid, right?

No. VY haters were on here long before VY was as big as he is now.

I don't hate Vince. I have expressed the fact that I think Jay Cutler will end up the best qb from the draft, but it has nothing to do with a hatred of Vince. I think Vince can have a good career.

However, they Titans are a division rival (and the team that left Houston), so I'm not going to be rooting for them to win games. I want the Titans to lose games just like I'd prefer the other teams in the division to lose games. I'm a fan of the Texans so I'm not going to want the other division teams to win a ton fo games (that makes it hard for the Texans to ever have a chance of finishing well in the division).

Now, some of the fans do make it hard to root for Vince because of the nonstop talk about the Texans and how they should draft him, etc. It is over. At some point, it just doesn't do any good to discuss it over and over. The argument from Vince fans about how we should have drafted him has been heard over and over.

    Steve Patterson is never irrelevant.
Neither is Don Cheney, Bill Fitch or Mattress Mack.

yea, i cry myself to sleep every night.

please, discussing Vince is not off limits. but tell me, what does VY have to do with a thread about the Texans defense when it isn't a game against the Titans?

the VY jockers love him so much, i'd bet my first born they are serious.

The thing is though, now it is time to start thinking about the upcoming draft. As you can guess by the fact that I already said I think Cutler can be the best qb in the draft, I personally didn't want to take Vince with the first pick. At the time, I was thinking Bush, although wasn't opposed to drafting a stud defensive player either. Trading down was an option I wouldn't have minded either if the team could still get a player they really liked.

The thing is though, by now the reasons for fans wanting to draft someone else have all been discussed and the reasons for fans wanting to draft Vince have been discussed.

Once you get to the point where every detail has been discussed before it gets kind of boring.

I just want to remind people that Patterson helped in the creation of the Texans.

Do you not believe me? what evidence do you need?

the whole Patterson thing was created because someone thought the Texans > Rockets.

so instead of Rockets > Texans. I took even one step more to not only prove that person wrong but to educate him about the Texans.

You think the average Texan fans knew about Steve Patterson's role in getting a NFL team to Houston? no.

just proves that the Rockets are a quality organization and that their personnel have gone on to solidify more success.

Steve Patterson, Robert Horry. the list goes on!

Obviously, discussing Vince isn't off limits.. I can just not read the threads about him, but I love listening to sports radio and all and reading the Texans threads and you can't do that either without hearing about Vince over and over.

That draft is over and now it is time to prepare for the next draft.

True, I was speaking as far as it is time for the Texans to start thinking about the next draft.

I'm always cheering for the Rockets. Gotta love the Rockets!

There have certainly been Carr DEFENDERS who rose up to contest the "Everything is Carr's fault" Bashers.

I never heard anybody bring Jordan into a discussion about Olajuwon or the Rockets.

is there a balance tho? i think there's a majority Carr bashers. but I'm sure they have their reasons. I mean he's been in the league for 5 years.

VY has just finished his rookie season. The haters for VY have been very critical while VY has had success, missed the playoffs on the final week of the season.

Carr has built up his bashers. they didnt just exist from nowhere or was automatically created because he played for a rival university or was picked by a rival team. Carr's bad play created his bashers.

VY has had success in his college career and most likely will win ROY. and he has bashers. there's a difference on why people bash on VY vs why people bash Carr.

I GUARANTEE you that right now, if there were no VY ManCrush threads, that there would be no VY hate going on on this BBS.
