as bad as it is, i think the war is going exactly as the administration and their overlords want it. i would disagree - there was no need to invade iraq. when they see our government's lack of response i wouldnt doubt that the "jihadists" would try to do it again. bush only had about a dozen warnings from other countries and their intelligence. they ignored the PDB of august 6. bush introduced the visa express program, which allowed saudi nationals to get a visa thru a travel agent rather than the embassy - several of the hijackers used the visa express program to get into the u.s. osama, despite bush saying he wanted him dead or alive, than flip-flopping and saying he isnt concerned about him and than flip-flopping again and saying he is concerned, lives in saftey in pakistan, despite paksitan being an ally in the "war on terror". when "jihadists" see that our government layed down on 9/11 and allows the culprit to live free im sure they are emboldened to strike. for starters, i wouldnt go around invading countries that didnt attack us or threaten us. i wouldnt allow companies from countries like the UAE, who are known funders of terrorists to control our ports. i wouldnt allow the borders of my nation to remain as open as ours are. some south texas sherrifs now claim that 1 in 7 of the people they catch coming across are or middle eastern decent. they also recently caught several hezbollah members with fake south american passports and fake hispanic names. i would make sure that i have competent leadership. if they were treasonous or criminal, which the bush administration is i would hold them accountable for their actions.
really? I wasnt aware over 6 million people have died in Iraq. Is that the scale you mean? But I guess we are on the way.
Definitely easier for us than the rest of our allies...us being late and all. Having a unified, real enemy is also easier. Winning a war on terror is not only hard it is impossible (except that eventually someone after Bush will just say we won and move on).
Well, let's see... I don't know about your kids specifically, but I've worked over 55 major fires since 1999 and countless other little ones. I've taught the Incident Command System to a bunch of local firefighters, the Coast Guard, the Department of Energy, Brazilians, Spanish, Japanese, and FDNY so that they will be better able to respond to an emergency. I've worked more ambulance/medivac scenes than I care to remember. I've arranged for grants to Native American governmenbts so they can afford training, equipment and radios to better respond to emergencies... and a bunch of other stuff that's critical but would sound boring to folks not in the business. Mostly though, I've given money and time to candidates who support real American values (Constitution, habeus corpus, etc.) in the hopes that your kids and mine will be free from having to be cannon fodder or incubators.
