I dont think moving DA would have been that hard if they kept things under wraps. Now people know we will either trade DA or waive him... why do we announce these kinds of things.

DA still has value in this league and when he is healthy he will provide a spark off the bench for someone.

Teams that really need a SG with a nice outside shot.

Denver (but I would hate to give them someone who fits so well)
    Cavs (need outside shooting)
    Heat (need outside shooting bad)
76ers (would be a good fit)
    Blazers (LOL)
Pacers with their injuries could use DA

what I would want in return is a PG / SF / PF

From Denver Nene works for me or Watson as they are trying to trade them anyways. Theres alot of trade rumors someone is going to need a SG.

Swift or Howard + DA to Denver for Nene and Watson.

They get a two guys that fill immediate needs. We do too.

Add picks or Head as necessary.

Nene can be the banger Swift will never be. Watson is an excellent back up pg, with slightly different skills than Alston.

    Howard/DA for Q-Rich/Trevor Ariza

Isiah is the kind of idiot that would believe reuniting Howard and Jalen Rose could be the missing link. Get it done!

Nene+Watson is a pretty good trade.

But Nene is out of this season, we will only have Hayes as the backup PF. Of course if Rockets cant make playoffs, this trade is the best you can get.

I would love Nene / Watson for JHoward / DA

Our roster would look pretty good with a pretty young front court to build around.

    Rafer / Watson
KBogans / Head (assuming Dwes is traded or leaves at the end of the season)
TMac / Sura (might be better suited to play the 3)
    Stro / Nene
    Yao / Lampe / Deke

Thats a pretty young athletic nucleus to build upon.

With Tmac / Yao as the anchors my only concern would be our outside shooting.

Not necessarily - it might create an auction mentality. Advertise what you put up for the highest bid. Instead of calling each GM and asking "off the record" if they want to trade for DA (which sends the same message - you want to move him), put him up for auction, and field offers. Other GMs know you are serious about selling, and maybe come with their best offers. Its not like you want to have an escape route if you can't find fair value; JVG wasn't going to play him, anyway. And this way, he stops whining and disrupting team chemistry, if he knows you are actively trying to move him. Maybe we can list DA on ebay.

Unless some team makes a ridiculous offer which includes Stro, I don't think he's being shopped nor going anywhere.

I have my doubts Anderson can stay healthy for the season and I just don't see that he'd garner much interest. He also has a player option on the 06-07 season. Both the Rockets and Heat have small trade exceptions expiring this month.

DA + future 2nd and/or cash (to cover the POpt) for Jason Kapono.

    We don't need a big splash...but another 6'8" young shooter couldn't hurt.

You might want to check out the salaries on your Watson/Nene proposal cause that pretty ludacris when they just dumped Moochie to get under the cap and get a trade exception.

my friend from georgia told me that he heard on the radio that ATL is talking to Houston about a potential harrington/ivey-juwan/DA swap. he had to go to class, so i didn't hear the details. i went on realgm, and i guess it works out.

    Houston Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    Derek Anderson
    6-5 SG from Kentucky
    10.8 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.6 apg in 29.1 minutes
    Juwan Howard
    6-9 PF from Michigan
    11.1 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.5 apg in 31.6 minutes
    Incoming
    Royal Ivey
    6-3 PG from Texas
    3.3 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 0.9 apg in 11.2 minutes
    Al Harrington
6-9 SF from St. Patrick's (HS)
    18.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 3.0 apg in 36.8 minutes
Change in team outlook: -0.1 ppg, -2.7 rpg, and -0.2 apg.

    Atlanta Trade Breakdown
    Outgoing
    Royal Ivey
    6-3 PG from Texas
    3.3 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 0.9 apg in 11.2 minutes
    Al Harrington
6-9 SF from St. Patrick's (HS)
    18.5 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 3.0 apg in 36.8 minutes
    Incoming
    Derek Anderson
    6-5 SG from Kentucky
    10.8 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.6 apg in 29.1 minutes
    Juwan Howard
    6-9 PF from Michigan
    11.1 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.5 apg in 31.6 minutes
Change in team outlook: +0.1 ppg, +2.7 rpg, and +0.2 apg.

    Successful Scenario
Due to Houston and Atlanta being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Atlanta had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

if this is true, then this is good news, b/c we get out from under juwan's contract, and we unload DA. i'm guessing ATL is scared of losing harrington for nothing, and seeing how he's their main PF weapon since marvin williams hasn't taken off yet, they want someone to come in and fill in al's spot. i'm guessing they're thinking juwan is gonna mentor young marvin. the royal ivey part makes less sense for us. he's sorta buried behind in their PG rotation, so it makes sense for them. they get DA, who can spell Joe Johnson. but what is royal ivey gonna do for us? i'm guessing he's such the filler in the trade.

i'm guessing ATL is getting desperate as we get closer to the deadline, b/c it seems like they'd be able to get more for harrington. for some reason though, very little of the trade talk is about him - most of it is about kenyon, francis, nene, watson, ratliff, ruben, and penny. this would be awesome, though.

I wonder if Matt Harpring is on the block.

    He'd be a bigger 2, and a 3rd scorer...

this is clearly a calculated move to appease Longhorn Nation prior to the impending selection of Reggie Bush. noone wants to incur the wrath of longhorn nation.

This will be a good trade:

Antonio Daniels - $2,200,000 last season of his contract.
Derek Anderson - (guessing) $1,000,000 for a year

Daniels is a defensive stopper and love to drive strong to the hoops, while Anderson is just a weak defender and not a good shooter. Why do you think Trailblazer bought out his contract for $8million + for a year just to make room for the roster spot.

Excellent trade and both teams found the 2 players as expendable. I'll pull this trade anytime

Simple deal. Erase Cavs off season errors with Marshall/Jones - Howard/DA. Simple and clean. And doable.

And does not negat9ively impact the future.

Thats a good trade, but Cavs wont do it. They are giving up too much for a "washed up" DA and "No D" Howard. Unless Rox figure out a way for cavs to bit.

Trade DA for an injured player just like moochie.
