I'm only seeing a thing on Pat Green, did I miss it? Is Channel 2 in Houston ABC? I'm in College Station and we only get ABC out of Houston.

Recap, CD thinks they are not far from SA, he said we need to keep adding players. Says Rockets are a fun team to watch. He says he just came back from Italy. Number 1 priority is to get more athletic and he says we always could more shooting. Would like add more youth to the team. Really doesn't expect the 24th pick to contribute away. Has been trying to move up but isn't likely. Rather pick a college player rather than high school player.

maybe these interviewers should ask about non-draft stuff like the Vassy and Maleke... since they should know that the rockets are not going to talk about the draft until after they pick

So, he is saying guys like Jack and Simien would not contribute at all?

I find that hard to believe.

CD and Lindsey's interviews sound so off from each other, it does really seem as if they are trying to keep everyone on thier toes bout what they will do.

I don' think he meant not at all. He just said guys picked at 24 haven't been real successful other than Spree and Cassell.

Come on man, it's not like we have the second or third pick and want to fool the team with the first pick. Ooh, big secret, those pesky Rockets are up to something really big with that 24th pick.

yeah, no doubt. I really wish we would get the Houston Fox Channel and WB channel. Instead we have a channel that shows FOX shows till 9 and then WB shows (mainly Charmed).

Yea, that is exactly what I said they were doing.

I don't care if they have the first pick overall or the last pick overall, they are not going to layout all their cards out on the table two days before the draft.

Uh, it's more likely. Teams coveting a player in the 22-28 range or a player with slipping ability have to pay less of a price to move up (or in) to a pick.

If CD does believe, like most pundits, that there is a great amount of parity from about 15-30 in this draft, he better be putting up the smoke and mirrors or risk tipping off another team hoping for a player to drop that they'll need to trade up.

    from Mogrod:
I agree. T-Mac and Yao are still young, Les isn't going to break the bank so it seems logical we find draft picks that can contribute and grow - like every other team.

I know T-Mac's kind of an old 26, but what he had to do last year was just ridiculous. Bring the ball up, take the hot scorer etc. Plus I think both he and Yao could use an infusion of young kids who want to prove "I can do that".

Even if they can't. Both Yao and T-Mac have been under incredible pressure, and kids have a way of making you think you're just goofy. I say bring them on now while Yao and T-Mac are still young and let's see what they can do.

How do you fool someone that has the first overall pick, is picking ahead of you, and is in control of their destiny? (and have already done their homework, presumably)

"Well, ya know that player you want to pick is no good *waves hand and uses Jedi mind trick*, pick that guy instead. Or, we'll trade you our trash that will never equal in value for that pick."

Seriously, I know there were situations like Yao's drafting where supposedly his management wanted him to play in certain markets, or in Stevie's case his refusal to play for the team drafting forcing a trade, but I can't come up a situation where the lower teams can fool the team with the overall top pick.

"Well, if you take Hakeem with first pick then we just might draft Sam Bowie and spoil your plans."

Edit: Ok, just thought about the Chris Webber Penny Hardaway draft day swap but I sorta saw that as a wash.
