Lake Jackson, Texas based, Buc-ee's, opened their largest store to date on May 11th in Madisonville, TX. The Madisonville store is 1/3 the size larger than their former flagship store in Luling. Buc-ee's, which has 20+ locations, opened stores in Cypress (Hwy. 290 and Mueschke Road) and Richmond (Hwy. 59 and Crabb River Road) earlier this year. Their Wharton store, which will be the same size as Madisonville, opens in Summer of 2009 on Hwy. 59.

I see so many kids wearing Buc-ee's shirts around campus.

I didn't know a truck stop beaver was such a pop culture fad.

My brother and his wife have some weird infatuation with Buc-ee's. I've stopped at the one in Giddings many times as it's the 1/2 way point between my parents in The Woodlands and my house in Round Rock. I don't get what the big deal is.

They need to open like 30 of those in Houston. Why only redneck areas?

Yuck Madisonville. Biggest pain in the ass hospital I've ever had to work with.

Btw, what's so great about Buc-ee's that causes people to be infatuated with it?

I actually like all the jerky, never tried any other of their brand products. but its funny, the last two days i've been eating some jerky from a c-store in the downtown tunnel for like two bucks a pack. And I asked myself, why do i spend all that money on buc ee's jerky?

As someone who hates to use public restrooms, Buc-ee's is a godsend. The restrooms are an OCD person's paradise. Also, it's the only place I can find full size Laffy Taffy and my dad loves their cranberry muffins.

Freakin' awesome. I have to go to Dallas next weekend for a wedding, and it's finally open! The crazyness of the Luling one blows my mind... can't wait to see this. :)

I always want to stop at the one on 290 on the way to school but either forget to or the person I'm riding with doesn't want to. :(

Buc-ees is freaking sweet, the Luling location is the best, can't imagine the one Madisonville

They opened one here in Pearland and that place rocks, wish their kitchen was still 24 hours but they cut down their hours where they are closed between 10pm-4am.

Can't beat there huge bag of ice for 99 cents :)

And yes their bathrooms are soooo freash, clean, I could sleep in one, has hand sanitizer dispensers in every stall, you won't find a cleaner public restroom

My dad stopped at the Richmond one after having to drive down there for work. I tried some Turkey Jerky which was good, but he also got a crappy Pecan Pie (may not be from Buc-ee's) that was more pecan than pie. He also got Buc-ee's wasabi peas, haven't tried them yet.

There's one I drive by every day off Hwy 288 at FM2234. It was neat when it first opened but I take it for granted now. Plus, I quit eating junk stuff a few years ago.

I honestly can't believe a truck stop gets this much attention. lol. I can't wait to.......... go use the bathroom!! YEAH!!! :D

I drop by Houston once a month to every two months, so I'll be sure to check out what is so great about this place the next time I head back up from Houston.

What exactly is great about the place? Please don't tell me it's just the bathrooms and bags of ice. :D

Man, if you had used their bathrooms, you'd know why they get so much attention!!! I've been going to the Buc-ee's in Giddings for almost 10 years now... I don't stop anywhere else unless it's an emergency.

But really, they have other little kitschy things and a really good selection of sodas and snacks. Plus, they sell Exxon gas. (my brand of choice :D )

They have good coffee, good sandwiches, kaloches,at their in-house deli. They have a very good soda fountain. The stores are always clean and the service is good. The stores are not truck stops(Gonzales and a couple others sell diesel for big trucks),the one in Luling has signs to keep trucks out. I drive truck over the road and go in and out of stores all over the country and Bucees stores are the best.
