Was slavery/segregation carried out in the name of Glenn beck and Sarah Palin?

 

Also since it was mostly Republicans (and LBJ) who passed the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which was the culmination of MLK's work, I think having some Republicans/Conservatives speak their is fair.

 

No but the 3,000 people where murdered in the name of what is being taught at that mosque (even if the murderers didn't fully understand Islam).

Actually Conservatism preaches equality for all Americans (thus no entitlements or tax breaks for specific groups) which is what MLK preached. What proof do you have that Glen Beck or Sarah Palin is racist?

If you have proof it is true? Only thing I can find is Palin's father saying "They were a minority type thing and it wasn't glamorous, so she came home.". That is far from proof to me. I consider that on par with birtherism or truthism or whatever the new one is about Palin's kid. "trigism"?

 

I don't listen to the Beck program much, but this week I have tuned in because of the buzz in the ranks of the tea parties. Beck has been tracing the history of slavery in the U.S. and praising MLK and quite a number of other anti-slavery historical figures (many of whom were black). He has also been castigating those who made discrimination socially acceptable.

Beck's current message runs absolutely counter to every one of your "questions." Please listen first and rage second rather than vice versa.

 

He had MLK's daughter on his show a couple of weeks ago. I will see if I can find it.

 

I would support them having a rally at Lincoln Park for similar reasons why the Islamic center should be at Park 51.

I think they are hypocritical when they feel free to turn a death ear to others concerns about that location but at the same time we have to respect their right to have a public rally on public property.
