Gay marriage became legal a minute and a half ago, therefore homophobia is dead.

Wait..... Hold on... Are you trying to say that Christmas parades could possibly come off to someone as "Jesus Parade"..... I'm sorry but Christmas in this day and age has almost nothing to do with the original intent and meaning of the holiday. I cant possibly imagine a Christmas parade led by non Christians to have a segment dedicated to the gift of salvation and Jesus Christ's death. What we will see is gifts, candy canes, bright reds and greens, Santa clause and so on.... How long have you lived in this country? I'm surprised you would even see Christmas celebrated for its original meaning.

On the other a LGBT parade will directly teach and tell you that they are proud to be gay and promote the freedom of coming out. And this is not a debate on right or wrong or even beliefs. What I'm trying to say is that recently someone who is gay is paraded all over the news for being gay and praised for his or her braveness. This bs wont stop until we stop giving people an avenue for pity and attention. Ignore them..... See how many people continue to publicly "come out" then. When the spotlight is off and nobody gives a damn about your sexual preference.

Not hating bruh..... Just pointing out some things...

Gay marriage became legal a minute and a half ago but being gay was never illegal. You could be the most raging homosexual in the city and will not get arrested or withheld from the makeup section at Target... Homosexuality is not new, its been around forever and you can find it in old texts including The Bible where its frown upon and considered sin. The difference is that Homosexuality has never been accepted as it is today. But it is accepted, we just need to stop treating as if its not. Homophobia is dying and quickly.

Homosexuality was illegal, bruh. Bowers v Hardwick. History. Learn it.

So many posters in this thread ("durrr... who cares? iz 2015") just don't get it. And that is precisely why this sort of thing is still important.

I get the same vibe from Skip, too. Dude came out recently on his show to say that he doesn't want children, because "he would be too hard on them or too demanding of them". A dad that's too demanding of their children. Never heard of that before.

The issue here is that sodomy laws prohibited the act of oral or anal sex by same sex individuals and not necessarily being homosexual. I can guarantee you there were gay people banging all night every night in the 90's and 80's without them ever even knowing about them. Do you have a list of people who have actually been persecuted and jailed under the sodomy laws? Seriously... Do you?

So many posters in this thread feel the need to white knight homosexuals and No this is not important. HOMOSEXUALS are not important. People dying in Mexico and Central America due to cartels is important. People dying of hunger all over the world is important. People trying to fight cancer and HIV are important. Women who are raped and abused in poorly developed countries are important. Children kidnapped and forced to fight civil wars is important. Not some ahole espn reporter who feels sorry for himself and is looking for thousands of white knights like you to cry on because he knows you will be there to soak up those tears and remind him how brave and strong he is........ Get your priorities straight bruh...

even in 2015 as you guys say, there are a lot gay bullying for normal ordinary gay people. gay kids are still struggling with life and contemplate suicidal everyday. it'll probably never be normal since it isn't normal just like there are still racial issues everywhere

You are right but this is not about douche bags who live off making others feel bad about their sexual preference or skin color. This is about forgetting our differences and people moving forward instead of acting like the whole world hates them.

6 pages because of a random reporter admitting he's homosexual and a heated debate, and the thread title emphasizing GAY.

Says a lout about our society.

Being gay is punishable to death in some countries even today. Because of religion. Pro religion guy, comparing gayness to religion, your take on that?

Why are you so worked up over this, to the point that you need to insult this guy for simply writing about his sexual orientation and his views on "coming out"? If the issue is not of interest to you, then let it be. No need to attack the guy for it, unless you really have something against homosexuals who choose not to keep their sexual orientation a secret.

You claim that homosexuality is already accepted, hence whether a gay person openly declares themselves as such doesn't matter. I take this to mean that you accept it, and that you are OK with the trend over the last 20 years or so towards more tolerance of homosexuality. Is that the case?
