Its not that simple. The real question is "How do we beat GSW and Cleveland?", and a Lawson/Harden back court won't get it done.

    lol..then what would?

I always find it funny when people are certain that something will or won't work.

Chucky Brown as a starting PF ain't enough to win a ring in the playoffs...oh, except when he does.

Kenny Smith isn't the kind of PG that wins you a ring...oh, except when he's your starter when you win 2 in a row.

Ain't no way Chauncey Billups can be the best player on a team that wins a ring...except...well...you guessed it.

Here's what matters most...in the history of the NBA the overwhelming majority of teams have at least one if not two players who are among the top 10 in the game. We have that in Harden. We have an exceptional complementary piece in Howard. We made it to the Western Conference Finals with freaking fossil Terry as our starting PG in the playoffs. It's a matter of simply finding the right pieces to build alongside Harden at this point...and to a lesser degree, Howard.

No way the Mavs in 2011 are better than the Heat. No way. You'll never convince me. But who got the ring?

Oh yes it would. Warriors barely got us in game 1 and 2. There's a gap but it ain't that big.

When the entire Nuggets organization says he's being traded or on the verge of it, that gives us the right to speculate our need of a PG and the assets we have to trade for one.

There are writers all across the NBA speculating on where he's going. I agree with you...this isn't just a CF fantasy trade. I think they're absolutely interested in moving him. And I think he's absolutely interested in not being in Denver long term.

Obviously you haven't seen the ridiculous contracts being signed. With the new CBA lining up, it'll be an almost-fair contract.

His numbers are a notch below CP3 and John Wall's, but, yeah, he's only worth $3-6M. Gotcha.

It's one thing to make a prediction that we won't trade for him. You've already done that. This crazy talk, however, is something different.

What an asinine thing to say. Have you seen the new CBA? Have you seen the contracts being doled out? Ty Lawson is more than worth $12-13M/year and would be the type of playmaking PG we need alongside Harden. Count me in on this one.

Ty Lawson is skipping his own camp in Denver. He's gone.

I don't necessarily agree with this.

Lawson puts tremendous pressure on two poor defenders (Curry/Irving) and it also allows Beverly to slide to the bench where he can get the back up minutes for both Harden and Lawson.

The issues with Lawson are his small size and his off the court issues. I don't know how he would be off the court with the Rockets, but I do know that defensively, until last year, he was not an albatross.

If there are no other point guards available, and I can get Lawson for a pick or two, and mediocre players like Jones, I do it and see how it plays out.

Lawson would increase our transition points, decrease turnovers and his three point percentage should increase with Harden.

    This is already publicly known.

Sure have seen the ridiculous contracts being signed. And we don't do ridiculous.

His numbers may be a notch below but his DEFENSE is a hundred notches below.

Lawson may be worth $12-13 million other places...but not here. Sorry. Yeah, I've seen the contracts being doled out. And, like I said above, we don't do that.

Yeah, I'd take him alongside Harden or off the bench behind Harden. But not at $12-13 million per season. And especially not at $12-13 million weighing down next year's cap.

Put Lawson and Bev together and you've got ONE GOOD POINT GUARD. One guys plays stellar defense. One guy plays stellar offense. A good 2-way point guard like Lowry makes around $12 million per season. Bev is making around $6. We'll take Ty at around $5-6 million per season. As long as he doesn't play defense that's his value to us. $5-$6 million per season.

Now, if Lawson was willing to modify his contract ;) then perhaps his salary of $12 million would be palatable to us in a trade. So if he modifies his deal then I'll add him to my value TRADE targets.

    Serious question, jopat.

Do you think there's a single GM in the league that would agree with your statement of Lawson only being worth $3-6M per year?

....or are you just that much smarter than everyone else?

I find it hard to believe anyone truly believes that, especially with the contracts being how they are this offseason.

    Good lord.

Is there an option beyond "ignore", because this is so incredibly stupid I am losing faith in humanity as a whole.

I fail to see the problem with that solution as it relates to Mr. Hollic?
