I say we take Miami up on their clearance sale... If the cost of 3 yrs of Shabazz is 1 yr of Birdman for non/partial guaranteed contracts - done - KPap and Prigs - but they gotta take Dorsey... stills cuts around 5M for them... Leaves TJ/NJohnson/Lull rights and whatever other euros we have stashed for another pg... nothing spectacular - just insurance... squeeze JSmith and KJ outta the mle... PBev/Napier/? Harden/MT/KJ Ariza/Brewer/Dekker DMo/JSmith/Bird/Harrell D12/Cap thats pretty freakin loaded....
no. If you want Napier you have to take on both Chalmers and Birdman. Otherwise not. This is the market price for expirings. Besides they are both servicable players and they don't have to traded immediately. Only until February to there's plenty of time for Miami. Whereas our ung have to be traded by season beginning. And btw we are not the only team in the league that has ung contracts to offer.
Chalmers is 4.3 exp and Andersen is 5 exp. Napier is 1.2 rookie contract 3 more years. and I'm 100% certain that if they find nothing else both Portland and Philly would love to take both of them on in exchange for Napier. It's only 9.3 exp contracts so a prospect is enough price.
We need a point guard that is pass first and won`t take shots from Harden and Howard. Someone like Ricky would be prefect.....if he can stay on the court we are in the championship against the east champs next season.
I think we need someone who can create some offense to take some pressure off of Harden. We got out gunned by GS and we would have been out gunned by the Clips if they hadn't choked. Howard is not, has never been, and never will be a guy you should rely on for offense.
To the Darren Collison comments: Sacramento supposedly wants to run a 2-headed PG experiment with Collison and Rondo, so he isn't readily available.
Not a trade but I'm pretty certain we aren't going to make a move for a pg until jet makes his decision
I seriously doubt that DM is not gonna pull the trigger on a good pg acquisition - based on the future desires of Jason Terry.... If he's still around after some retooling and wants the min - we'll take him back....but I believe he will return to Dallas....
Rockets IN: Ryan Anderson Pels IN: K-Pap T Jones 2017 second round draft pick from Portland Portland's 2017 2nd round pick to Houston [Houston-Portland, 7/10/2013]
I just read that Ryan Anderson was involved in trade rumors. I know I'm late but what about this trade: Pelicans get Terrence Jones, Kostas Rockets get Ryan Anderson The salaries almost match. The Pelicans reunite Jones with Davis and Rockets get their true stretch 4. Kostas can be waived. If the Pelicans are still unwilling, the Rockets may need to throw KJ or Nick Johnson in the deal but that might be too much. Another option is to do a three way trade including Phoenix. Apparently they are ready to get rid of Markieff. Pelicans get Markieff Rockets get Ryan Anderson Suns get Terrence Jones and Kostas
Rockets In: Tyreke Evans Ryan Anderson Pelicans In: Pap Pigs Jones Dorsey Johnson KJ S&T (If that's possible) IDK why NOP would do this but they would save around $10 mill and end up with 3 young players, 2 of which (Jones & KJ) that have some real potential). I think Nick could be a good role player in this league but imo his ceiling is lower than Jones & KJ's. Another, more likely possibility, is a three-way tradew with Denver & Sac. In which... Houston In: D. Collison Sac In: Lawson Denver In: Pap Jones Just a loose framework on Deal #2 but I think DM could get it done
Don't see how Denver does that trade. Lawson for Kostas and Jones? No way. At the very least the Nuggets get KJ or a draft pick.
Like I said, its just a loose framework for the deal. I'm pretty sure that Sac would have to clear more cap space than just collision in order to take on Lawson.
Denver also just signed Jameer Nelson long term. Prob as vet help for their young PG as they are anticipating Lawson trade
