That's the mindset we need to get out off. Yeah let's get a point guard last minute and give him a couple months to fit in. We need the chemistry to be great this point needs to be with the team training camp and 82 games.
"Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results," is Einstein's definition of Insanity.
Yeah. I'm not going to panic, yet, but I hope the roster has no empty holes going into training camp.
Training camp starts in September. We're 7 days into Free Agency and the July moratorium hasn't even ended yet.
You're right. Who would want this team to be in the Western Conference Finals again? Let's try for DIFFERENT results.
Made up quote, and I'm not sure how it even applies in this case. Morey hasn't changed the roster enough for you? http://www.salon.com/2013/08/06/the_definition_of_insanity_is_the_most_overused_cliche_of_all_time/
Why wait to panic though? Don't you know that the Spurs just signed a 35 year old PF that is awful defensively!?!?! We're clearly doomed.
It's better to make no trade than to make a bad trade. Doing something just to do something is Sacramento Kings thinking.
Nice way of manipulating this to mean what you want it to mean. I'm not as up-in-arms as a lot are on here regarding the moves we've yet to make. However, I do think there still needs to be some things done - most notably, the obvious: re-sign Josh Smith. Once that's done, continue to scour the market for an established, ball-handling PG who fits our system. Outside of that, though? Not sure what needs to be done. This team is, most definitely, constructed to win now.

KJ gives you blocks and steals and stays in front of his defender. Brewer is extremely fast up and down but doesn't have great lateral movement and gambled too often for steals. He's also a neutral offensive player due to his transition prowess, while KJ is currently an offensive mess. The result - Brewer is basically an average player who isn't a major plus overall on either end, while KJ erases his defensive prowess with a raw offensive game. A quick look at the BPMs and other metrics would support this.
Brewer is way beyond average. He single handedly won us two elimination games against the Clippers with monster 4th quarters. That's not something average guys can do.
http://m.bkref.com/m?p=XXplayersXXmXXmcdankj01.html&t=4 Posted too soon but: Brew http://m.bkref.com/m?p=XXplayersXXbXXbreweco01.html&t=4 KJ http://m.bkref.com/m?p=XXplayersXXmXXmcdankj01.html&t=4 If anyone knew where you can find the advanced defensive metrics like StayInFront% I would be curious to know if that holds up for KJ and Brew as well.
He's overall average or even below if you look at his whole game. He struggled in half court sets and gambled a lot defensively. I like his energy and hustle but let's be realistic about who he is or what he can be at this point in his career. Barring a 10% improvement in 3FG he's going to be a relative Minus in half court sets and positive in transition, and barring a more reserved approach to defense, he's going to continue to generate steals but blow half court defensive match ups.
