Does Morey look like more of a mastermind now with the Ariza deal?

Shumpert actually is a little worse, but yes, that's the one where he compares most closely probably. Considering market changes, Shump's deal isn't that far off from Ariza's.

Carroll and Green, two others referenced in original post, are much better than Ariza.

Wouldn't say mastermind on Morey...but definitely a good deal. He definitely knew which way salaries were going to go this season.

Your comment about Shump and Ariza is kinda misleading. Shumpert is not just "a little worse"...dude is not better than Ariza in any facet of his game; in some areas, considerably worse. Even setting aside Shumpert's questionable health (he's averaged 60 games a season over his 4 yrs in the NBA), Shumpert does not shoot better % than Ariza, he does not score more pts than Ariza, he does not shoot the 3 ball better than Ariza, he does not rebound as well as Ariza, he does not shoot FTs as well as Ariza, his DWS and VORP are both significantly worse than Ariza's, etc. list goes on and on. In fact, I struggle to find any facet where Shumpert is better than Ariza. Shrugging off the bump up in price for an inferior player will often make arguments seem a lot stronger. Few in the NBA get embarrassed, but consistently being better than your peers, even if just by a bit, should be lauded as astounding.

Man! I didnt know that site even still existed. Once I switched over to Clutchfans I never went back. I'm going to fish around that site for a bit and see if I can find some old posts. Thanks for bringing that up I always wondered what that site was. Those were my old college days. Good times!

If I remember right, I think the site reinvented itself at some point. I know we had a small group of posters posting together from about 2002 to 2006, but I think that all of that is gone now. Still, good times though.

Funny, your sig says you've been a Rockets fan for 22 years and I was thinking, "damn that guy is older than I thought..." then I realized... I've been a Rockets fan since I was 6. I turned 28 last week. I'm going on 22 years myself lol.
